12) The Green Party has two highly qualified black women on their ticket (chosen before the Democrats or the Republicans annointed their picks).

She may be the 1st Republican candidate but she's not even the 1st female candidate this year. The Green Party out-did McCain before he started by running a team of 2 Black women.

The twist is that these 2 are both highly qualified candidates (in addition to being attractive) whereas the Palinator is utterly unexperienced in politics. A mother of 5, including one handicapped new-born (as the result of her having a child too late in life), just 2 years ago she was a small-town mayor and wife of a commercial fisherman. She is the antithesis of a progressive in her expressed political views and in her very limitted record of political action.

Voting for Gender? Vote Green.
Voting for progressive values. Vote Green.
Tired of the BS?

Vote Green!

sarah palin is a vile and cruel wildlife hating witch! she approves of aerial gunning and just authorized the brutal shooting of 14 wolf pups no older than 8 weeks old for no reason. she has posed a $300,000 propaganda campaign showing the benefit of killing innocent wolves through the means of aerial gunning. she steals money from state funding and uses it for promoting the vile practice of killing wolves. let me ask you, would you want a woman that murders innocent wolf puppies and takes away animal lives for fun?

Palin is EXACTLY what we don't need, as Maria stated so well. Women, DO NOT put her into office because of her equipment: she's a stinking female Bush. Angrily noted, Tom.

Abuse of Power investigation is not isolated.

When the Alaska Creamery Board recommended closing Matanuska Maid Dairy, an unprofitable state-owned business, Palin objected, citing concern for the impact on dairy farmers and the fact that the dairy had just received $600,000 in state money. When Palin learned that only the Board of Agriculture and Conservation could appoint Creamery Board members, she simply replaced the entire membership of the Board of Agriculture and Conservation. The new board, led by businesswoman Kristan Cole, reversed the decision to close the dairy. The new board approved milk price increases offered by the dairy in an attempt to control fiscal losses, even though milk from Washington was already offered in Alaskan stores at lower prices. In the end, the dairy was forced to close, and the state tried to sell the assets to pay off its debts but received no bids.

I'm not for having both an Environmental killer & an animal killer in the white house... at the same time

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is an avid hunter, Moose-eater, married to a hunter/commercial fisherman who also does work for Big Oil, and she supports opening up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) for oil drilling. Oh, and she objected to listing the polar bear as endangered

Why did she not kick out Ted Stevens the Repl. Senator being investigated by The FBI. for corruption as she approves of his corruption? Had no sense getting pregnant with a 5th kid when already having 4 kids as the Governor and then not having sound prenatal care. She is the female version of George Bush. Eight years is enough. McCain is part of the Keating Five that caused the loss of billions of peoples money not to mention tax dollars when the insurance for Savings and Loan went bankrupt and the entire US banking system had to changed joining both systems together other wise thousands of Savings and Loans would have to be closed. We had two powerful Strong Banking Insurance Corporations. Thank John McCain and his fellow Senators including the ones from N.M. MI, Ca and a 2nd Senator from AZ. McCains good buddy. McCain had to sign a Prenupical Agreement inorder to marry his present wife with her father while the 1st wife lay in a hospital recovering from a car accident. He said Palin is like him. That is right birds of a feather stick together. Can she stand up to Bush's friend V.Putin? Polar Bears are dying off because of the oil spill up there now and she wants more to die off for oil. Do not vote for these kind of people we have 2 now and that is enough.

We need to expose the deciet that McCain is trying to pull off with this. Truth be known it's all probably a way to get to ANWR for the oil. Look who we have in office, 2 oilmen!!

Gov. Palin has raised eyebrows in other ways. Many environmentalists are livid, for example, over her support of aerial shooting of wolves in Alaska -- despite ballot measures in the STATE in which voters twice since 1996 have voted to end the practice. "So far, people have been forgiving of her, but I don't know how long that can last," says Tom Banks, Alaska representative for Defenders of Wildlife, a Washington-based environmental group.

The governor says she is pro-environment and has defended the aerial shooting as necessary to build up moose and caribou herds in parts of Alaska to help improve local food supplies.

Gov. Palin's opted to board a jet from Dallas in April while about to deliver a child. Gov. Palin, who was eight months pregnant, says she felt a few contractions shortly before she was to give a keynote speech to an energy summit of governors in Dallas. But she says she went ahead with it after her doctor in Alaska advised her to put her feet up to rest. "I was not going to miss that speech," she says.

She rushed so quickly from the podium afterwards that Texas Gov. Rick Perry nervously asked if she was about to deliver the baby then. She made it to the airport, and gave birth hours after landing in Anchorage to Trig, who is diagnosed with Down Syndrome. "Maybe they shouldn't have let me fly, but I wasn't showing much so they didn't know," she says.

It was an eight hour flight.

I was reading a blog comparing Palin to vp quayle. (intentional lower case)

There is a trend here that began with Bush Sr.
At present we know Cheney is why Bush has not been impeached...
then this quote from Wikipedia:

Critics facetiously remarked that Quayle was a good reason for even Bush's critics to pray for Bush's health and that he was the only Vice President who made his President "impeachment-proof".[cite this quote

Palin's mis-Administration offered a BOUNTY TO EACH HUNTER BRINGING IN A CUT-OFF LEFT FORELEG OF A WOLF.
To Palin, wolves are "vermin" to be "exterminated".
So is ANY wildlife that's not profitable for "sport hunters".
Alaskan law PROHIBITS THE KILLING OF NURSING WOLF MOTHERS; AND MANDATES THAT IF THE MOTHERS DIE, HOMES BE FOUND FOR THE CUBS.
Palin's government IGNORED ALASKA'S OWN LAWS; in SLAUGHTERING NURSING WOLF MOTHERS, and, after making sure the mothers were all dead, THEN SHOOTING EACH BABY WOLF CUB IN THE HEAD. 14 of them.
No-one has yet been held accountable for BREAKING ALASKAN LAW in this BRUTAL fashion.

Well, getting RID of mothers and their babies, is a good way of EXTERMINATING the entire wolf population, so that -- hooray! -- they'll become EXTINCT.

McCain has had 2 aneurisms. The chances that he'd survive even a year of Presidency, are exceedingly slim. Palin would be a heartbeat, literally, away from being President herself. Say goodbye to the animals, and the environment, if this former Beauty Contest Winner is elected VP.

The top 11 things you should know about Sarah Palin:

1) She is presently under investigation in Alaska for abuse of power

2) She strongly supports big oil (her husband works for oil company BP)

3) She believes creationism should be taught in public schools

4) She is opposed to abortion even in cases of rape and incest

5) She has no federal or international experience. Prior to being governor (for less than two years) she was only the mayor of a small Alaskan town and a beauty queen!

6) She believes global warming is a farce and is opposed to listing the polar bear as an endangered species

7) She stands for everything that Hillary Clinton stood against

8) She supports drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and anywhere else big oil wants

9) She supports Pebble Mine which will destroy the richest salmon run in the world

10) She supports aerial shooting of bears and wolves in Alaska

11) She is pro-war

BMutiny ThemIDefy, it was Biden who had the 2 aneurisms. McCain has had 2 bouts with cancer and CIndy had a stroke awhile back. I live in AZ and the only time the McCains make the news is when one of them has a medical issue. They are a joke around here. McCain has used this state to furthur his career, the way he votes doesnt reflect the way progressive Arizonans feel the future of AZ should go. We have a great GOV but thats it! Goodbye McCain, I'm certain after he loses the election people will have seen that he is no good and WONT re-elect him as Senator. Palin is the wicked witch of the west. It's very scary that she has been given such a high seat of authority.

Sarah Palin also supports aerial gunning down of wild horse herds.
She supports teaching creationism in public schools (Where is the separation of church and state?)
She is adamantly opposed to abortion even in cases of rape, incest or when the mother's life is in jeopardy.
I believe her stance also precludes birth control, considering it abortion. I hope someone will let me know if that is accurate.
My biggest problems with her are her lack of anything resembling experience on a national level, her total disregard for wildlife and the environment, gleefully trampling the constitution, what her influence on the next supreme court justices would be and her ability to look you right in the eye and lie. She is scarier to me than Dick Cheney.

Update: On top of the evidence showing Palin is not a good VP choice, strong rumors are floating that Palin is not baby Trig's mother but rather is his grandmother.

I heard this story the day after the announcement of Palin as VP. I thought nothing of it and figured it was simply a rumor. After carefully going over the Kos article, the story is not favorable to Palin.

"Checking with the Anchorage High School that Bristol Palin attended, reporters were given word that her family had taken Bristol out of school due to contracting infectious mononucleosis. The amount of time Bristol was absent shifts from five to eight months.

Mono can last anywhere from two weeks to three months, but an eight month infection is a freak oddity. Yet it remains a common excuse given by girls in private & Catholic schools around the nation when pregnancy comes into play. Not the first time, not the last time."

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/8/30/121350/137/486/580223

While I still want factual evidence that proves beyond a doubt Palin is actually Trig's grandmother, I will keep an open mind on this issue.

Palin as VP does not change my vote. I still will not vote for McCain. However, this is damning against Palin if proven true, yet I think she deserves to be considered innocent until proven guilty.

If she is found to have lied about being Trig's mother, I think the GOP will probably steal the election anyway, and the ignorant, biased republican voters will believe the majority voted for this horrendous team of McCain-Palin. These two scoundrels could murder someone cold in public and I think the GOP would find a way to clear them and still give them the election.

I am hopeful my suspicions of a stolen election are wrong, but I've seen too much corruption from the GOP to be naive about the state of affairs our nation is in and that the GOP won't sink any lower in their lies and damage to our country.

And yet, $arah Palin may need another attorney to battle her other ethics complaint that was filed on Aug 6, 2008. - http://juneauempire.com/stories/080808/sta_315789945.shtml

Blue, while this ethics issue is something most politicians face, it raises flags with Palin over so many other issues arising in her short political career as governor, especially since it has happened so recently prior to her nomination for VP.

Here's an article that shows the foolishness of the GOP rushing in to support Palin. Newt Gingrich said:

"She's the first journalist ever to be nominated, I think, for the president or vice president, and she was a sportscaster on local television," Gingrich said on the "Today" show. "So she has a lot of interesting background. And she has a lot of experience. Remember that, when people worry about how inexperienced she is, for two years she's been in charge of the Alaska National Guard."

The article continues...

"It's a pity Gingrich was not around when the Roman Emperor Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, better known by his nickname Caligula, reputedly named Incitatus as a consul and a priest. Incitatus was his horse."

Read the article here

For their sake, I am truly embarrassed and ashamed for the GOP.
