The hunter is becoming the hunted. Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin's colorful life story as an avid hunter and "hockey mom" is quickly turning the little-known Alaska governor into a juicy target for late-night U.S. television talk-show hosts.

i agree with Terrie, she should never have compared herself to a pitbull, those poor dogs have enough problems!!!! I wish she would have never surfaced...but I am also kind of glad she did, now everyone knows what sort of Governor was running Alaska...so now maybe Alaska has a chance

They compare her and Dan Quail and he was elected. NOT THAT WAS SCARY! AND THIS IS TOO. God help us if these 2 get in. Georgie, Cheney, and McCain jokes were getting old. What Georgie did to this country was no longer funny by anyones standards. Cheney isn't funny and now we know McCain really is suffering from DEMENTIA. She will only be funny if they don't get elected but am afraid I just don't have faith in the intelligence of Americans anymore. My God, the elected Georgie 2x's and put up McCain to replace him. Did these people go to school or is the proof we needed to show schools are teaching anything to our citizens. Oh for the 60's again when we could protest and say HELL NO WE WON'T GO

Sandy, you are so right! I have thought McCain is suffering from Dementia for the last year. She is a real piece of work! God help this country if she ever became President! If they are elected I will have no respct for the American Public. They will be deserving of ALL the S... they get. I have never heard so many Snarky, disrespectful, belittling, diminishing remarks before on a national level. McCain says he wants to have a respectful campaingn! I don't believe he does.

I just can't imagine that so many people who rally in favor of her
would have any respect for her if any of them love animals. She has no respect for animal life. I really think that she is on a power trip and
holding a rifle pointed at an animal gives her great plasure. I am concerned
because of all the animal welfare bills that are going into legislation. we have made alot of progress in many states. We can only pray that the American people will see through them and especially see Sarah Palin as a controlling animal hater. Your right she doesn't compare to a pit bull.
I'm appossed to animal fighting but I would love to see her in the ring with one....without her shotgun!!!! And what do you suppose they meant by she knows how to dress a moose?

If she wasn't hunting polar bears and wolves from heliocopters it would, I guess be funny, but this this is serious as they are endangered animals, of course if she had her way they would be taken off the list. She also has been known to have books taken off the library shelves because of offensive language. Sarah Palin is a real danger to this country and having her only a heart beat away from McCain is the scariest thing I can think of . The only problem Dan Quayle had was that he couldn't spell potato.

Its frightening that anyone who doesn't believe in global warming and believes animals are to be eliminated may become vice president and possibly president of the U.S.A. I'm a Brazilian animal lover and the idea of having her as a neighbor scares me.

I am frightened for your country and mine. This is the woman who used half a million dollars of government money to make sure that she and her cowardly "hunter" friends could run down and shoot wolves and bear from a plane. I grew up in Northern Ontario where my parents ran a hunting lodge. My dad was a hunter and guide, until he got sick of people not nearly as bad as her. He would hold her in deepest contempt for cowardly, cruel behaviour - I am with that 100% and signed petitions, sent letters, to have "hunting" by plane banned. She and her cronies won...Now she could be VP or even (God Forbid) President of your country!!! picture her having a conversation with the Swedish Embassador, Or Mid-East leaders, or....It is SO scary.

Well, I for one am very sorry to hear all the bad complaints about McCain & Pallin. I am voting for John McCain, because I think he is an honorable, honest, man - someone to be admired for all the years he served our country. As for Pailin, as an animal lover I am not crazy about her passion for hunting and being a member of the NRA, but when you compare the McCain - Palin ticket to Obama - Biden ticket I would urge everyone to vote for McCain. Obama scares the c..p out of me. Just what do we really know about Obama - not much - whereas John McCain's record in the military, and serving our country as a Senator is a long and admirable one.

Noted and thanks Tom !
I agree with most everything here except that I am not against hunting to feed your family if its done in a way that respects the animal's spirit. However I am against hunting for sport and this ariel hunting and canned hunting which both of them should never be called hunting because its real cruel slaughter, these animals don't stand a chance .Even preditory animals give their pry a chance to get away .So what does that tell you about human's who do these airiel and canned hunts ?

Now on another note. I think concentrating on Palin too much could be a mistake ! Of course we all know she is a disaster waiting to happen and certainly not qualified but I think she actually was thrown in as a distraction, 1.Media wasn't paying much attention to boring McCain which wasn't good for his campaign ,2. to distract the good old boys and get them all fired up with her looks and Annie Okley charm ,,not charming to me okay but she is not a bad looking woman I will give her that much, although her voice is irritating, lol ,,and 3. to distract us away from attacking McCain on his no policy campaign and the fact that it was Republican's including him that caused the mess this country is in to begin with and all this crap in his speech talking as if Dems, Obama specificly are to blame for it is nothing but voodo politic's !I think what we really need to do is keep reminding people that it was the Republican's who took us into this unecessary war and voted to keep us there ,putting this country in trillions of dollars in debt to China and Japan and I do think Russia too ,its the Republican's who distroyed our economy with their stupid trickle down theory by not voting for raises in the minimum wage that should have kept up to the rise in the cost of living so people could afford to spend their money and keep the economy afloat .Now we are all being taxed as well as our children and grandchildren to bail out banks and mortgage lenders and now Freddy Mc and Fanny Mae . McCain voted 90% of the time with Bush he aided and abetted Bush in this war and every bill that has had a negative impact on our country and its economy along with all those bills that Bush vetoed or the Repugs voted against that could have helped us.People need to be reminded that this didn't happen on the Dems watch it happened on the Republican's .

This is what I mean about giving her too much attention !

Shirley, I, too, have admired some aspects of Sen. McCain through the years. I always said he seemed to exhibit a high degree of integrity. For example, he spoke out and voted against Pres. Bush's tax cuts in 2002 and 2004. Sen. McCain rightly said the tax cuts mainly benefit the wealthy and are not designed to help the middle classes. Then, this spring, Sen. McCain announced he was now FOR the Bush tax cuts and a few weeks ago he announced they should be made permanent. He also has changed his (campaign) mind about off-shore drilling. Now he is for it. What should we make of this, except that he is trying to consolidate the base of the Republican Party?

Second, what should we make of his reckless selection of a running-mate (who gave the most juvenile, ridicule-laced acceptance speech I have ever heard), who is so inexperienced in national and international issues, a person he met only once before she surfaced as a seriously-considered choice? Again, he has caved to advice that he must shore up the base of the Republican party, a base that is now captured by its right-wing.

For these reasons, I now see that Sen. McCain has compromised his integrity. He could have held to his original campaign strategy: to form a coalition of Republican moderates, Reagan Democrats, and independents who form about a third of the electorate. He now is taking the more partisan Rightist strategy. Let's see how negative his speeches now become. He has ditched his integrity, so why not?

Shirley its what we already know about McCain and Palin that should scare the crap out of anyone.

As far as Obama I know a lot about him but then again I did some research and I read about the man and what he has done .All that he has said he has done is verifiable ! He was a community organizer who helped to get civil laws past in Chicago and helped those less fortunate ,he was a Professor teaching Constitutional law ,he was in the State Senate for 8 years and now he is a Senator.
It really makes me angry when people repeat or believe things they don't know are true.Obama had to actually have his birth certificate validated to prove he was born in the USA because rumors said he was African born and the certificate was a fake on his site .Now I think that is a damn shame !
Never before has a candidate gone through such scrutiny like this having to prove their American born all because of enuendo and gossip. One can't help but wonder if there isn't a bit of racisim behind all these lies put out there and I am not waving the race card either,,there doesn't seem to be another good explaination for all thoses Muslum and not American rumors .

What do you really know about Palin's real background that wasn't blown up to be more than it really was by the Republican party ,"according to The Anchorage Times her speech was filled with lies giving herself credit for things she never did,".Not to mention that there are a lot of blank pages on her ,,as if someone erased information from her record and she attended 6 schools in different area's of the country only for short peroids of time like 2 months to a year taking different majors until she finall took journalism and after just two years graduated .This was all in the Anchorage Times and I would think as Governor the Anchorage Times would know her pretty well .It makes one wonder if her resume isn't even thinner than we already know !

Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results has a definition its called insanity !
Bush should have been enough to scare anyone off of voting in another Republican especially a 72 year old war monger like McCain who is so out of touch he actually believes the middle class are people making less than 5 Million,I guess he thinks the poor are anyone making less than 1 million and he insisted just a few short months ago our economy is strong ,,now he is back peddling .This is a man who doesn't know he has 7 houses and has to check with someone else to find out .All he has is his POW status to fall back on and he plays that one up to the hilt !He has no real voting record that has helped the middle class and poor and he hasn't legislated for any either !Look up the man's record .If your going to vote at least do it from an informed possition not just because you don't like the name Obama !

Not to metion Shirlie that if McCain were elected at his age there is a good chance he wouldn't finish his term and Palin would be president .A woman with little expperience not fit to lead our country OMG that would be a disaster !
Oh by the way I left out that Obama was a Harvard Law School grad and was on the Law Review !Not too shabby ! He is a very intelligent man.Tell me did intelligence come to mind when you heard Palin speak or John McCain for that matter ?

I agree with Linda R. It really scares me that she would nbecome President! What problem that would cause for us all. She is not fit to be the Vice-President in line for the Presidency.
I also agree with you about Obama. He is the best hope for this Country. McCain say Country First, then picks a unqualified person for the v-p. so as to energize his base and win an election! SO much for Country First.

Its about policies and outcomes at the end of the day..The fact that youve got one younger black bloke, with an older white guy vs an old white guy and a younger white woman,is peripheral to the real issues..managing the economy, healthcare, education, international policy etc.
The soap and celeb glamour bit is just window dressing, but to many people seems to mean everything..oh i'll vote for her, she's got nice teeth.
Does this all mask the fact, that there is little real choice between right wing corporation lovin dems and extreme right wing repubs who are the real executive arm of the corporations?
As im not a US citizen,i can only imagine what I might do in the election..
I'll be very honest,as maybe come the day,id be sweating with indecision . I see that the No in November analysis , is very very accurate, and the election will be corrupt and the parties almost identical.
At the same time, I know that the US will be further along the road of becoming the most dangerous combination, of power and authoritarian ideology,in the history of the world .if the reps keep hold of power.

Tell her to stay out of Denver because they will have to euthanize her because they kill any pet that looks anything like a pit bull. Even her LIPSTICK won't save her now. She should just stay in the BUSH. To think she has a bounty on wolves heads? I will leave my beloved country if these people get in. I am shocked and horrified. She's a disgrace and I am from Idaho.

Good one, Blu. What her book-banning action did was give all Christians a bad name. Believe me, what she is promoting is not Christianity. She is giving the impression that she is the speaker for all Christians. Her way or the highway. Please know she evidently has her own self-created religion.
