Unfortunately, "colony collapse disorder" has decimated honeybee populations, and no one knows for sure what's causing it. One possible factor, as documented in the film Nicotine Bees, is nicotinyl insecticides (also known as neonicotinoids).

NotÚd with concerns. Thank you. It is sad news to hear our honey bees are in decline, I've noticed this myselfs too. My one favourite summer fruit is strawberries, without these bees we will lose more fruit and other crops that is essential to our daily intakes. A bee will also be reluctant to sting you so please release them carefully if they enter your maison.

"One possible factor [of bee decline] as documented in the film Nicotine Bees, is nicotinyl insecticides (also known as neonicotinoids). Now, huge agribusiness corporations have acquired patents to coat their proprietary seeds with these neonicotinoids, which are extremely persistent and end up in pollen and in droplets of water on leaves."

Defies common sense. What on earth are corporations thinking?

I'm not sure that corporations actually think and I'm positive that the EPA doesn't! I really wish they would mount a full scale investigation into why bees are vanishing.

Disturbing news.. Honeybees play a very important role in the biodiversity as many plants cannot self-pollinate.

This defies common sense.

Another one of those quiet devastating effects of our callous use of our resources. The burn and slash methods we use against nature are just not in anyone's best interests.

Once the honeybees go, we all go! Say NO to GMOs and these other unnatural forms of food that we are seeing. Thanks to Monsanto we may end up like lab rats, suffering from the effects in years to come. We must come together to say NO and stop this atrocity!

Nicotine pesticides? That's great. Nicotine is one of THE most poison substances ever. In the old days, for example, Black Flag, used to kill mites in henhouses, was made from tobacco leaves soaked in water. The nictone in one cigar injected into oneself is fatal.
