I flew American Airlines out of Tucson several years ago. I have to use a wheelchair if the walking distance is very fair. At that time I was around 40lbs overweight but could sit very comfortable in a normal size wheelchair. When the flight attendant was telling the person on the ground to get a wheelchair he went way, way over the top in signalling the size of wheelchair needed. He had stretched out his arms about as far as they would go. During the flight he had been so nice but turned so cruel as I was leaving. At least the person that wheeled me to the gate for my transfer flight apologized for the actions of the flight attendant stating that not everyone at American behaved in such a poor manner.

We have addressed the issue with our team members to ensure we provide a consistent, quality travel experience for our customers in the future.

Yeh, consistent being the operative word, consistently crap!
