TANZANIA has no plans to ban elephant hunting despite outcry from conservators and tour operators who feel the Jumbos are becoming endangered species.

It's kind of silly for officials to say hunting has no effect on elephant populations. It makes no sense to hunt these animals at all, especially in light of their quickly declining numbers worldwide. Anywhere that a significant population of elephants lives, such as Tanzania, they should be well guarded and protected.
