It's also damn cruel:
"New research from Plymouth State University (PSU) and the University of New Hampshire (UNH) indicates that collecting and bleeding horseshoe crabs for biomedical purposes causes short-term changes in their behavior and physiology that could exacerbate the crabs’ population decline in parts of the east coast."

Why does one species have to suffer for the benefit of another? Are we humans that important? Guess I can't understand priorities.

We abuse everything we can. Our species is going to eventually have to pay the piper for what we do.

NOTED! LEAVE THE EARTHS ANIMALS ALONE. I WISH EVERYTHING DONE TO THESE ANIMALS WOULD BE DONE TO THE PEOPLE PERFORMING THESE CRUEL ACTS!

I wonder how hard they have looked for an alternative to this. There must be one, surely?

More of man's arrogance. Animals are not here for us to use to heal us or for any other reason than we are just to exist and live life, so let them live! I do hope we get a petition for this.
