After lengthy negotiations VIER PFOTEN has rescued the last three dancing bears of Serbia! These bears led a miserable life of abuse and confinement. Thanks to the organization's persistence, joy and comfort is finally within their reach. Let's celebrate!

I have photos of my mother holding me as a baby as gypsies are bringing their "dancing bears" down the street in my father's village in Yugoslavia. The bears, tethered with ropes around their necks and through their nostrils, were forced to walk down the street on their hind legs at the end of a whip. My mom said that I cried and showed a great deal of distress. Even as a toddler I knew what I was seeing was wrong. This story has a special place in my heart for this reason. God Bless the dancing bears of Serbia, and bears all over the world. Let us celebrate the hard work Vier Pfoten and the freedom of these magnificent creatures. >^..^< M.
