You guys are fast!!! Huge thanks to Florence E for breaking this first, I didn't put it on then as she'd already done it. But I see the petition still needs lots of help! Giant sparkly green stars to everyone I can star, and my enormous thanks for your signing, sharing, and support. I only watched the first seconds of the video and had to dive off. Luckily I could use another part of it. Sooooo awful and horrifying. I'm just extremely happy to have Mercy For Animals here now, it's been needed for a very long time. XOXOXO to you all and I wish you the Happiest of New Years!!

Thank you Kim. Signed and noted. I agree, I cannot see the video either. I used to watch videos, saying that if they have to live it at least I can watch it. But it would affect me so deeply with heart break that I decided I can't do it. Just seeing the picture is enough, I can tap into their pain (as an empath). Thank God for people that devote their lives to help animals. Thank God for this new organization Mercy For Animals Canada. Where are they based? I need to google. And Blessings to Kim and Florence to keeping us all in the loop. Collectively we can make a difference.

Hi Sacred! They're based out of Toronto and are a branch of Mercy For Animals USA. I'll put their linky in here to the home page if you'd like to see!! It's about time we got someone here to throw some fear and education into some nasty "farmers". Ditto on the video comments above. They eat me alive.

Signed. Sadly humans have become so detached about where their food comes from that they no longer care about anything beyond the financial cost to themselves. You go to the supermarket and all you see is the packaging not the animal, nor its pain and suffering. Campaigns such as this one are wake up calls to us all!

I viewed the first two minutes of the video, and it was horrifying not only to see how the animals were treated, but how apathetic the employees were while administering such abuse! It's heartbreaking to see the abuse inflicted upon these innocent animals, but it's just as heartbreaking to know that human beings can so easily lose their sense of humanity.

Signed and noted. BUT how could ANYONE watch this or ANY of these awful videos on any petition we sign.. I am sure we all have QUITE vivid imagination enough to keep us awake at night, without seeing the videos!! I am always a bit suspicious of people who actually watch them. I DO hope that there are no horrid people who have inflitrated this site that actually ENJOY them ! There are some very sick people about ! We should no longer subject pigs to this sort of torture than a three year old child that has about the same intelligence !
I DO agree that people are just on auto pilot when they eat pork, or any meat, as they have not yet truly thought what they are eating and made a consious decision not to make ANY animal suffer for the sake of our stomachs that can quite well live without it. If you HAVE to eat meat, well you really owe it to the anmals to at least make sure that you NEVER eat one mouthful of meat that has been produced with cruelty to the animal you are eating. Mind you... I am being a bit of a hypocrite as I DO eat fish occasisonally !!

Nicky: Many years ago I worked for a college professor who was a pioneer in the area of energy conservation in addition to being the University's energy conservation officer. He also happened to be a very dedicated and passionate vegan. He and his wife sponsored seminars that focused on the inhumane treatment of animals, followed by vegan food preparation demonstrations. I volunteered my time assisting with these seminars because they were held in his home, off the clock, and those who attended did so out of a desire to learn more about the subject. After explaining the ethical reasons for a plant-based diet, he inevitably showed several films that depicted the slaughter of chickens, pigs, and cows. I wept along with everyone else in the room and later decided to close my eyes during that portion of the presentation. But the presenter never did. The suffering of the animals kept him motivated. He's retired now, but he and his wife are still hard at work promoting the ethical treatment of animals.

There was a reason for making people aware of the suffering of animals, and it was very effective. No one there derived any sick pleasure from being introduced to the injustice and cruelty the animals endured before their ultimate death. They were educated by it. It motivated them to do their part to put a stop to it. Many of them became vegetarians; some became vegans. I agree that people who enjoy observing the suffering and death of any living creature needs psychiatric intervention. However, you'd be surprised to learn how many people have no idea of what goes on at the farms where the animals live and in the slaughter houses, where they ultimately die. Many people need to remove their rose-colored glasses and witness the horror --at least once-- before they're convinced.

Since I'm the only person who indicated that they viewed any portion of the film, I'm guessing that your remarks were directed at me. It's been about 25 years since I volunteered to help at one of those seminars, and I learned that things haven't improved for these poor animals. I never once thought to question the motives of the kind and sensitive Ph.D. who ran the seminars and made people ashamed of themselves for eating animal flesh without considering what the animal had gone through to provide them with their meal.

I have many, many friends on this site and I would never want them to be "suspicious" of me or think that I "ENJOY" viewing these videos.

Great comment Susanne. I did watch the first little bit but had to stop it. It rips me up seeing animals die and even worse if it's a brutal death. In this case the torturers have been caught, so I stopped the video early. I know I get zero pleasure from seeing it, but it keeps a huge fire lit under my ass to get abusers like the ones in this video stopped. I always view any videos that I'm putting into a story. I like to warn people beforehand on what they'd be exposed to. It's like the kitten killer videos, the dog burners, on and on....I'm looking at the perpetrators, what they're wearing, jewellry, tattoos..... I'm looking at everything in the background, any kind of clues I can use to get the people responsible busted and the punishment they dearly deserve. I agree that anyone that gets a kick out of watching animal torture and suffering needs some serious psychiatric help pronto.

Thanks, Kim! Life isn't always pretty, but we need to know about the ugly aspects of it before we're motivated to make necessary changes. I respect you for what you do and thank you for bringing this abuse to light. There's no other way to stop it. You can't fight something if you're not aware of it, and many people won't be convinced or moved by the plight of the animals unless they see not only the abuse, but the callous indifference of the abusers. It certainly worked for me!

I signed the petition but would not ever watch (on purpose) anything that depicts cruelty to animals. My tears have flowed enough at the ASPCA commercials on television, when all we see are the sad faces of the poor creatures! I appreciate Susanne R.'s explanation about why someone may be able to watch cruelty. I would also like to assure Susanne that I doubt anyone who knows her would assume she enjoys watching such a video. Peace, y'all! Thank, Kim.
