It is so obvious that it shouldn't need an act to 'allow' it.

My Representative, Congressman Jim McDermott, from the 'Fighting 43rd District'[State of Washington], is a co-sponsor of this Bill, I am happy to say.
The form letter can be ALTERED to express the fact that your Congressional Representative is a co-sponsor, if you should be so lucky!

We were once on the right track until William Randolf Hearst and another corporate mogul squashed the manufacture of hemp to further tree harvesting for newspaper production.

What a crime it is that we cut down our old growth forests to use as bathroom tissue or junk mail advertising that nobody reads.

Right on Sara S.! BMutiny, I was shocked when I visited Washington State in the rainforest, to see the huge trees being driven out on LOTS of huge trucks 24/7. Noted, thanks Kim, and agree welcome Jeff.

We need to be bringing back HEMP to the USA. It's a weed! No pesticides, doesn't need much water, etc. Makes paper, rope, jute, fabric, more. We'd save billions of trees they cut down now for profit, that's the only reason hemp is banned. It's time to move forward with Hemp. We are cutting down all the old trees for toilet paper, don't believe that it's all tree farms being used for the billions of items us humans use. The logging trucks run day and night in Washington State, and I'm sure in many other locales. Think of the future when there are 300 million more Chinese and India(n) people demanding energy. We will be hurting, perhaps doing without if our country can't outbid China, and since they own a huge portion of our debts, we could be cold and worse, like other worldwide peoples. We need to utilize our OWN SAFE RESOURCES, and this one is so easily renewable and natural. It's a gift from Creation used for thousands of years! It was a major crop demanded to be grown if you lived in the Colonies here. Only banned for tree barons to get rich.

It will take you way less time to sign the petition than it did to read this e-mail. Sign if you can, thanks.

Wow... Thanx for the links Sandra, particularly the last one!
In regards to what you've posted concerning trees and logging, the info below from the site is interesting and frigthening!

We only have 4% of the trees left, by volume and weight, on Earth as we did 125 years ago

Those Care2-ers in California who believe in Hemp's value need to get active to help make Hemp legal there. If Californians can vote to legalize Hemp it will send a strong message to the rest of the country and hopefully we'll see a change in the laws which have been in practice since the 1930s which banned Hemp for the sake of big business!

Many thanx again Sandra, buckets o' *greenstars*!
