A world at peace would have solved problems or be actively working on solving them. We are reminded what Rock and Roller Jackson Browne says, 'Every bullet is a mouthful of food stolen from a starving child.'

If there was means to be World Peace ever, the ones in these position would be spending the time in finding means & solutions to these crisis! What is happening is the total opposite, finding ways to continue on enslaving us, killing us by removing all our freedoms & rights. Continuous wars on absolutely innocent people to claim for themselves while using us to get the job done for they want clean hands to grab the rewards for themselves. I personally believe that even as I write this comment unto this thread, that evil entities are watching our every moves. They are everywhere concealed as trolls, government shills & behind Zionist control. Having stated this, I also will become very minimally active in threads & possibly more active in group activity where there is a better chance of joining forces where the impact to bring world peace within ourselves will be more attainable. Too many with different opinions & views & not enough intent in making the change is taking place in comments. Most are remaining sheeples, letting the inevitable happen & I choose not to be one. I will do what I humanly am able within a group & connect to only those with the same goals & intents. The evils are every where, we cannot fight them, but strengthen the good around us & reconnect spiritually with our creator as only then we can all be saved. Good explanation in this little video. Good article Michael.

From the article:

> Capitalism is based upon employees producing more value than they are paid. This basic relationship has always been a cornerstone of capitalistic economics. Since those who work cannot afford everything they produce, capitalistic businesses must find markets outside of the capitalistic work force. Without these outside areas to sell the surplus value produced by employees capitalism would not be able to realize a profit.

-- Michael Dewey, "World Peace Becomes Possible", *Op Ed News*, 03 Feb 2012

Interesting!

The wage paid to the worker is part of the cost of producing the product. The difference between the purchase price and the cost of production is profit.

Where do the profits go? -- into the pockets of the executives and the stock holders. Most of the stockholders are more affluent than the workers, so we have an upwards redistribution of wealth. If there is no countervailing downwards redistribution system, then wealth collects at the top of the pyramid, where it stagnates.

The top 1% are a small group; they have the money, but not the need to purchase everything the economy produces. The workers are a large group; they have the need, but not the money to afford what is on the shelves. So production slows down, the workers are laid off, and now there is even less money available for purchasing the products. A downwards spiral develops.

Apart from this downwards spiral, we have many valuable useful products that never get produced because there is no way to make a profit from producing them.

Thank you for posting. Yes, I believe anything and everything is possible, but is it probable. That is another question. After all, when I read my newspaper and read editorial letter written do defend 'fracking' against the perceived enemies of the American Economy, then it become hard to think that we will ever truly put aside our own selfish ambition to achieve anything as good as peace.

"We must change the metaphor of our society from one of war to one of peace. This is what stands behind the push to create a cabinet level Department of Peace, to institutionalize the capacity of peace, just as our government spends as much as a trillion dollars yearly as a result of the institutionalization of the capacity of war.

War is not inevitable. Nonviolence and peace are inevitable.America can make of this world a gift of peace which will confirm the presence of universal spirit in our lives. We can send into the future the gift which will protect our children from fear, from harm, from destruction." ----

"We can rebuild (it). We have the technology." By that I mean the way we relate to and use private property and the way most owners of private property push their costs onto others.

Maryland has an interesting measure of real progress that goes well beyond GDP. Herman Daly wrote an excellent book years ago called Beyond Growth that talks about new ways of dealing with the economy and business. Adam Smith's 1776 book, Wealth of Nations, is surprisingly usefull and completely unlike the BS it is used for by all the Invisible Handers.

Mondragon is a great model for how individual businesses should run and how to BEGIN a move to greater respect for mother earth and all her children of all her species. But even the worker-owned and -managed co=op is not the ultimate solution until it deals more holistically with nature's bounty and who should reap the rewards of using it and how we dispose of the stuff we've made when it no longer fulfills its purpose.

We have a long road before us. But it is a road with signposts. It may not be paved with porous asphalt yet, and we may need to reorient it here and there. But it general route exists for anyone who looks for it.

It's time we seriously set out on the journey.

the Beatles are/were vegetarians. If one looks up all famous people who were veg'ns or others who promoted veg'nism, all of these wise people of the spirit/science/arts saw the intelligence and karmic connection to violence and war via the animal-killing and consuming diet. War will not end as long as humans kill any life form, as law of karma is firmly established.

'World peace' has been possible ever since the Greeks invented the Olympiad, a method of containing and moderating the violence so (usually) nonlethal competitive battles between consenting soldiers replace the slaughter of war. Every sport is a competition, but unlike war the athletes come back home alive. The gods pleasure in sports as their followers demonstrate the benefits of faith without need to force compliance, and few if any followers are lost to the ensuing game. Whether it's the original Greek pankration, 600 meter run, discus and javelin throws, or other sport events added as the Olympiad grew, or the modern competitions in the heritage of the Olympiad we follow now, the sports all stand for a war not fought and the people who didn't die in that war. Among the best sports now are FIFA football, swimming, track and field events, and Olympic wrestling...

Peace would be nice, but I don't believe mankind is ready for it. It will always be "them against us", there's always someone who envy somebody elses (perceived) goods or luck. As long as racism exists - there will be no peace....I could give a hell of a lot of examples, I can only hope that people begin to reason, and let parts of their "religion" behind, to gain peace. Sorry if I'm destroying dreams.

I sincerely believe that World Peace is always within our grasp. All we have to do is love without conditions. All we have to do is never put boundaries of LOVE and never accept boundaries on LOVE. But that is the challenge we face in this lifetime, or all of our lifetimes, for Pagans like me.

World Peace will come, and surprise everyone. It's time. :)

As for the economy, etc.... Greed, and egos played a big part in the downfall.

A Supreme Court ruling is what led to the downfall of the World economies. The State Regulators filed suit against the Federal Regulators because of the Mortgage frauds. State Regulators were trying to stop the fraud as it was getting out of hand within their own States.

Federal Regulators deduced that it was not to be left up to the States because the Banking System is run, and overseen on a Federal level. It went to the Supreme Court who basically told the States that it was not in "their" jurisdiction to enforce the States fraud laws on Federal Crimes. Pure pettiness. :(

It started with bickering in 2001, that continued without anyone "Regulating" the Banks, then it escalated to lawsuits. Still nobody was "Regulating" the Banks even though that's what all of their bickering was about.

There are large Companies out there that do not allow employees to work more than 38 hours per week, so that they do not have to pay Benefits, Insurance, etc.... They believe that they are saving money, but I believe that in the long run they are wasting it. Employee theft rises in these cases, and good employees tend to quit.

Ads cost Money, hiring takes time, and time means additional overtime for the persons in Management positions at these businesses. Managers make the higher dollar amount, so in essence "their savings" amount to higher costs in the long run.

The lesson to be learned is that you will get what you pay for. Pay good employees, and they will stay, and be productive. Cheat your employees, and you will cheat yourself.

Thanks Michael! :)

When I first saw the title I thought to myself....so they are finally going to ban 'organized' religion the world over. . .but that wasn't what the article said ..sigh...oh well, I can dream can't I. As long as organized religion exist, regardless of what system the nation is using, capitalist etc. , religions will make sure that peace is not going to ever happen..period. It's not the nature of religions to actually work for peace, much the opposite as we'll all been witness to recently and for generations...centuries...in the past. It's the one common elliment that makes war for any nation possible as for..reasons and or support one, for them.

Interesting concept. Often we like to quote Biblical verses for the point of backing up a concept. There is a problem in doing this in that we tend to forget that the heart of man is inherently evil. God wants the ultimate better world for everyone and where it is quoted what will be the end for evil doers, we tend to jump onto those passages as being "for those extortioners" but forget that each of us is just as guilty if we would just look at our own thoughts and intents.
God does have folks in this world who are endeavouring to work towards improving the lot of the downcast. These folks are not perfect and they also make mistakes and although they look back over the road they have travelled and repent of their mistakes (sins) others who wish to cover their own evil nature are out front to point out the faults of others.
There is only ONE person that You and I have the capacity to change and that is ourselves and that takes a big decision in dedicating our own life to do the honest thing in EVERY circumstance. That means that everything WE do must be absolutely honest and pure in thought and deed. Even just ONE infraction will place us as not being in a position to judge whether another person is pure and honest since we ourselves are not.

From my reading of the Bible (and there are quotes from it in the article) I find both from my reading AND my personal experience that NONE of us has the capacity to be fully Honest and Pure in EVERY thought word and Action. Religion is mostly perverted and twisted for Power over People (If you don't do what we say then you will burn in hell) and is definitely NOT what God wants for us. Jesus example in His life was to show us that by having the full connection with His Father GOD, that a perfect life CAN be lived. Unfortunately, because we have the tendency to love sin, most HATE the example set by Jesus simply because it shows up our lives as a sham.
Jesus IS our only hope for a better world. BUT, who wants to be perfect? We prefer to blame the other guy to try and justify our own evil tendencies. THAT is the nature of humanity, even me.

The Bible does talk of the "Unpardonable" sin. That sin is Self Justification. It is unpardonable because we refuse to recognise it as a sin and therefore can never repent of something we refuse to accept as being wrong. We are all in the same boat. When I point at YOU, I will have three fingers pointing back and accusing myself. Worth thinking about. To change the world, we need to start by changing ourselves to be the example to others, NOT their accusers. Our perfect example will bring down the Ire of those who hate purity and they will want to destroy those whose perfection makes them feel guilty.

They did it to Jesus so why should we expect anything different? While sin rules the world, nothing will change.

I would desperately like to see the "white Doves of PEACE thriving and flying FREELY on every piece of Land on the Globe but I am afraid, for now, this is simply WISHFUL THINKING.PLEASE, let us NOT DELUDE OURSELVES ! The 'Doves of Peace' are right now being blown helpless away by the strong winds that are blowing the Dark Clouds of CONFLICT onto our distant (and indeed even near) HORIZONS !! This is the situation : -
i).On our near horizons CONFLICT IN THE MIDDLE EAST IS NOT ONLY INEVITABLE, it is in PHASE I in Syria, Iran Yemen and even surrounding Countries that deem themselves HAVENS OF STABILITY, TRANQUILITY and 'ENFORCED PEACE'
ii).Still on our near horizons there is , like in words of one Song "A WAR WITHOUT END" without End" also in Phase I from the
shores of the Mediterranean to the Torrid Zone_The Equator !1
iii).On our horizons a little further there are UNWINABLE PROTRACTED Low-Level WARS without end in Central/South America going on even NIGHTLY in the Favelas of the beckoning Economic midi-Power, Brazil
iv).On our 'Virtual Horizons' there aree already 'ferocious Wars' waging which can turn 'REAL-TIME INCIDENTS and then EVENTS ANY Moment, recall STUXNET and others and areas they 'worm' they way into that can provoke a hot exchanges anytime ? They beningly and euphemistically call these 'hacking',"CYBERNET ATTACKS etc but this is simply rhetoric for CONFRONTATIONAL HUMAN ECHANGES THAT DISTURB THE PEACE in one form or the other !
v).Then there is an external Military-Industrial EXPANSIONISM and acquisition of FEARSOMELY LETHAL ASSETS that MUST BE TESTED in the REAL and not VIRTUAL WORLD at some stage by both THE EASTERN and WESTERN MEGAPOWERS that even reach out into space. This should tell us that DOOMSDAY EXCHANGES amongst or above us may not be SUCH A FANCIFUL IDEA afterall
vi0.The are the FOODSTUFF HORIZONS that were once limitless but are now shrinking at an alarming rate bringing CONFLICT OVER THEM ever so closer
vii). The THERE IS THAT MOST PRECIOUS and UBIQUITOUS HORIZON, the FRESH WATER HORIZON in us, around us and we CANNOT SURVIVE WITHOUT which we have used with gay abandon in past centuries but which is now also obeying the LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURNS_ WAR OVER IT IS INEVITABLE ! No excessive, efficient supply and use of desalination plants anywhere WILL EVER PREVENT IT
SO YOU SEE REGRETABLY WORLD PEACE IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY IMPOSSIBLE AND NOT POSSIBLE ! Withdrawing a few USA,NATO,Coalition Armed forces from here and there IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE IN THIS CONTEXT !!!! I AM VERY SORRY ! YEILD OR THOU DIEST ! ONLY I YIELD TO DIE !!!

I encourage everyone to view the video Michael has included, "Economic Hitmen."

Here's a quote: "I don't think the failure is capitalism. It's a special kind of capitalism that we've developed. We've created what I consider to be a mutant, viral form of capitalism, and this mutant form of capitalism, which I think is really a predatory form a capitalism, has created an extremely unstable, unsustainable, unjust and very, very dangerous world."

The video gives a short explanation as to why this is so. I don't think you'll regret listening to it!

Thank You All for helping this reach #6 in the most popular OEN's today. We had cross posted it on too many sites to count.

You may say we are dreamers, but we are not the only ones. Arlo Guthrie said of ''OWS-Empire's-Territory'' resistance to it is futile.

As is said in Daniel a few times, many will be purged, purified and refined, to be made ready for the time of the end, which is to be peace. On this broiling, boiling melting pot called Mother Earth, flying through space, even racist are refined.

I do not recall any Bible reference in this OEN at all. When we first found this article on Arlonet for Arlonuts, had put it in my first paper News Letter we were passing around, and snail mailing out.

Yes, The Bible has become a tool of the Elite. Which they use to basically keep the people divided. When we read of all these beasts, horns and corrupt kings, we can see where the stumbling blocks are coming from, causing the little ones to stumble, by doing things that they would not normally do if the people had a lighter load to bare and a bigger piece of the pie. WOE! to the stumbling blocks.

To see exactly what the established Church has become, Jeremiah 23 (where we can find the words, ''in the latter days you will clearly understand it.'') is a huge rebuke to leaders then and now. Jer 23:33-40, is a huge warning against claiming the oracle of the lord, for each man's own words shall become the oracle. Was just reading Micah 3 today in The New American Standard Version, which we prefer, but all versions can give a deeper meaning. -''The leaders of Jacob hate good and love evil.''

World peace doesn't lie in isms it lies in the individual. You can't have world peace if there isn't peace in every individual. Know anyone (not including yourself of course) who isn't fully peaceful, or serene or sane?
Looking at the smaller picture of two people, how they do or don't get along 'peacefully' or 'not peacefully' you see how the bigger picture of two or more nations getting along might be.
As someone else said on this thread you could start by bringing peace to your local community as a precursor to world peace.
Oh and throw away that stuff about 'man is inherently evil' that somebody in Christianity said. How about the idea that he's inherently good but can act badly.
The former gives the ultimate excuse to have no or less responsibility for the conditions around one, but the latter puts responsibility on every individual. (Of course not everyone likes or wants to be responsible and would rather put it all in the lap of someone else)

They first poison the minds of their own citizens with lies and false flags, against the targeted government and then go on a destruction of life and infrastructure(bombings and drones).

Rid the governments of its corrupt and self- serving politicians and we will definitely find peace and harmony for all off mankind.

Take Ted Wells’s fourth-grade class in Brookline, Mass. The kids read the Dr. Seuss story “The Lorax” and admired its emphasis on protecting nature, so they were delighted to hear that Universal Studios would be releasing a movie version in March. But when the kids went to the movie’s Web site, they were crushed that the site seemed to ignore the environmental themes.
So last month they started a petition on Change.org, the go-to site for Web uprisings. They demanded that Universal Studios “let the Lorax speak for the trees.” The petition went viral, quickly gathering more than 57,000 signatures, and the studio updated the movie site with the environmental message that the kids had dictated.
“It was exactly what the kids asked for — the kids were through the roof,” Wells told me, recalling the celebratory party that the children held during their snack break. “These kids are really feeling the glow of making the world a better place. They’re feeling that power.”
The opportunities for Web naming-and-shaming through Change.org caught my eye when I reported recently on sex traffickers who peddle teenage girls on Backpage.com. I learned that a petition on Change.org had gathered 86,000 signatures calling for the company to stop accepting adult ads.

World peace starts in the heart of each individual. Then it grows in each family. It progresses to neighbourhoods and countries. Only when countries are at peace within there own borders, should they try to negotiate peace acroos the world. It starts with you!

Kenneth L. writes --

> World peace doesn't lie in isms it lies in the individual. You can't have world peace if there isn't peace in every individual.

Mary P. writes --

> [Governments] first poison the minds of their own citizens with lies and false flags, against the targeted government and then go on a destruction of life and infrastructure(bombings and drones).

Hello Kenneth. I agree more with Mary P.. Most individuals fall far short of loving their neighbors. But our hate -- for neighbor and for selt -- is not of the sort that impels us to reduce our neighbor's town to rubble. For that kind of hatred, one needs government and a mindless obedient populace.

I'll agree with you about the isms, however. Ideologies are used to blind people, poison their minds, and drive them insane, to the point where they can't tell right from wrong. Fascism actually inverts the moral code, so that war seems like the highest good and peace seems ignoble and unpatriotic.

The individuals who want and make war war are those who profit from it, directly or indirectly. These are the individuals who dominate our governments. The rest of us -- the vast majority -- prefer peace.

But we do not prefer it strongly enough. There is some peace in us, but not enough to make us want to actively resist the government and the war-makers. There's not enough to make us want to refute the War Party propaganda and investigate the false-flag terror attacks. We are too easily bowled over by the War Party and the masked media.

Take 9/11. We Americans prefer peace, but we have allowed the government to use 9/11 as a pretext for making war and inflicting 9/11 three hundred times over on Iraq, a country a tenth the size of the U.S.. Real peace activists ask that we INVESTIGATE these false-flag pretexts for war-making and identify the REAL perpetrators. I'm thinking of 9/11, the Reichstag Fire, Gulf of Tonkin, sinking of the Lusitania, disconnected incubators, industrial shredders, mutilated children, Poor Kosovars, Saudi Assassination Plot, etc.. Real peace activists understand that truth is the first thing the war-makers target, so they defend truth with all their might.

Most Americans have been taught that wars and depressions "Just Happen". So they believe that there is nothing they can do to avert these "Chance" occurrences. They do not see or imagine the terrific struggle going on within their own government, realists and true humanitarians on one side, sociopathic war-addicts on the other. They do not understand how important it is to hold the sociopaths accountable and remove them from the inner circles of power.

Most Americans prefer peace, but are not willing to struggle for it. They do not see that they themselves are the ones who get to pay for the war-making of the sociopaths at the top:

* their sons and daughters come back dead or spiritually and physically scarred
* their rights are taken away to cover up the war crimes and keep the critics at bay
* their savings evaporate because of war-induced inflation
* their economy sinks deeper into the toilet
* their country ends up with more enemies and less security
* their ideals and aspirations are twisted into cynicism and fear

If Americans saw just how dearly they pay for the war-making of the madmen at the top of the pyramid, they might be a lot less eager to believe the war-propaganda and they might be less susceptible to being stampeded by false-flag terror attacks.

If only it were so. When it comes to economic interests or political pride, politicians do not care about peace. Currently in Argentina our politicians are close to reproducing the war he had with England in 1982. I hope nothing bad happens.

Sometimes I think that politicians do not represent the people, but their own interests. As long as their pockets are full, they are able to do anything.

"lot less eager to believe the war-propaganda and they might be less susceptible to being stampeded by false-flag terror attacks."

Charles, why do you think the above is true? Americans are not eager to believe war-propaganda and sacrifice blood and treasure on the words of politicians and they are not stampeded by false-flag terror attacks.

Even the people who have made a cult out of conspiracy/false flag etc. are not stampeded by same, they are enjoying themselves enormously.

Michael, I love the story about the children's petition going viral.....out of the mouth's or living examples of babes, for sure. Thank you so much for that delightful and comforting comment.

Every word u read in bible or other holy books are written by mankind, offcourse its nice we dont throw ppl in front of lions anymore, but believe in urself, we still are able of wafull negatif behavior, maybe even more then when the bibler was written, in favor of this item, when u are able to believe in urself as u do in that what is upthere, then u would be up to it, life, being eqy=ual and peace....... the love and light u find when u are dead is sure very perculiar, so great and ofcourse it is holy, but it is energy, giving us energy and light, peace, love, we are the ones who make this light bigger and smaller, through our dees, intentions and acts, intention is the most important, we all want to show ourselves, being heard, seen, thats natural, its the way u proclaim it, ur ego is ur statue, u are able to see lots urself and go after peace, every step towards it is more then none, offcourse money is an evil issue, the power of money should be reduced, that would be a big difference, nothih=g is to belaim entirely for it, as it is a sum of all, the negatif part of all, just try to be a positif part, which lots of u are doing already, again, why did u write things down inhere, for u, them or ur ego, sorry if this is hard to say, but it would make a difference if u agnolize this for urself, it doesnot make ur comment less, just being aware is enough...... the first step to a real change..............honest being honest, mostly to urself..........

Thanks for your response, Bee Hive. You write: "Why do you think the above is true?"

I write from personal experience. I see millions of Americans supporting politicians like McCain, Santorum, Gingrich, Romney and Bachman, all of whom are singing "Bomb, bomb Iran!". If we Americans were as perspicacious as you think, we would have run these filthy war-loving sociopaths out of town long ago. Instead, we give them our votes.

The emotions that fuel war -- Fear, ethnic Hatred, Cynicism, and even arrogant Idealism -- are all strongly addictive. The politicians push these spiritual drugs, and many Americans are hooked. That explains why they are eager to believe the war-propaganda: They feel an unconscious urge to get a new war-fix, a new war-high.

False flag attacks have been used again and again to create pretexts for war-making. Think of the Gulf of Tonkin incident. Think of the incubators in Kuwait in 1991 -- the story was pure invention by Hill and Knowlton, an advertising firm hired by Kuwait. Think of the sinking of the Lusitania. Think of the tales about Saddam's shredder. Think about 9/11. The result is invariably the same: Americans get stampeded into a war-making frenzy: Shoot first and investigate never.

It has been ten years, and we have yet to have an honest investigation into the worst attack in American history, but that has not stopped us from inflicting the equivalent of 9/11 on Iraq, hundreds of times over. A million Iraqis and 4,500 Americans are dead, because we are too lazy to insist that 9/11 be investigated properly. Instead of an investigation, the War Party gives us a giant Monument, a giant wailing wall where tears are used to drown out our questions and our need for accountability.

World peace will ONLY come when Christ Jesus rules and reigns on this earth period! Man does not grasp living with his fellow man with out the nature of sin he was born under. Therefore when Christ returns, Satan will be loocked away in the abyss whereas he will have no influence during this time of teaching and discipline that will be the rule of Christ!

Elaine, its all going to happen in the flesh this time too. That is what was kept secret in Daniel 8:9-14 where stars and hosts of heaven were dragged down here and trampled as human beings. That is what the dream Jacob had of angels coming up and down a ladder. The Ancient of a Days with his hair white as wool, is a man who takes his seat in a world court in Daniel 7, before 1 like a son of man comes on the clouds of heaven, which is the TV. The Lamb was quoting Daniel 7 when he spoke of the clouds. The Bible was only meant to be a foundation. There is truth in all cultures. I get much wisdom from The Native Americans who knew that a 7th Generation would come, to unite the 4 colors of mankind, into 1 circle again. We are that 7th Generation...

From gratitudetwenty-fourseven.com:

Are you conscious of the fact that you’re making up the stories you tell yourself and others? It’s your interpretation of any situation that creates its meaning for you. Your overall feeling about life is determined by the cumulative effect of your narrative. Notice if your spin serves you in a positive way or depletes your energy.

Create your life consciously.

Capitalism and most human power structures including government have tended to be maintained if not at the barrel of a gun or via a phalanx or a police force or a Samuria sword--you get the idea,-not to work at all.

It is not only capitalism -it may be that without the guns of the battleship ptomkin for example that Communism could not have been launched by the Germans bussing in Lenin.

Gandhi only gained his point when the armed forces of the British Empire needed the support of their Indian brothers and offered them national soveriengty in exchange.

This is only one aspect of the problem of peace. I personally am a pacifist I watched Martin Luther King being shot on TV last night-One gun seems to have prevented the march on poverty doing much.

Those people who say that we may achieve peace one by one have a point-certainly it is likely that that is what Christ recommended. His turning of the other cheek is difficult so is his giving your spare cloak(should you own two to others.

The injunction to love your neighbor as yourself is also fraught with terrors-However at least on religious leader has proved it possible viz the Dali Lama-and as Dr Martin Kning realised in his" Strengh to Love."
and John Lennon sang-"Love is the answer"-On every level

Every random act of kindness and act of humility and charity(IN St Paul's sense is a means to that peace.

Hear, Hear! -- to that wonderfull little video on the site and to everyone's comments on this interesting thread. Still, I personally think we are getting worse instead of better, ie, going to hell in a handbasket... because as aware and as desirous of peace as so many people are, most all the elements of this world are moving in a direction that will predictably, and increasingly, call forth Mankind's baser instincts and reactions. I sure hope I'm wrong but...

Hello Cindy B. --

Let's do what we can to improve the odds. First, let's become more than just spectators. Instead of waiting for evil to call forth baser reactions, let us be pro-active and put forth our nobler actions: Let's seize the initiative!

When we're reacting to evil, evil is in control, so this is the time to learn how to ACT, how to become free AGENTS, free of the machine, free of the system.

The struggle against evil gives us an excuse to climb out of out complacency, tear down artificial divisions and barriers, get to know ourselves, discover our spiritual resources, and bring people together in community. Let's turn evil into an opportunity for doing good.

Instead of GOING to hell, let's actually GET there. Then we will finally be free to turn around, because hell is ground zero with no way to go but up. Hell liberates us, strips us of our illusions, our pretensions, our commitments. It is where we find and forge our joy and freedom. As many have said, "freedom" is another word for "nothing left to lose".

I personally think we are getting better instead of worse. People are not just desirous of peace: People are creating peace, truth, freedom, strength, joy. People are breaking free from the debilitating moribund system, and that's a good thing. We're getting back our humanity. We're regaining our independent moral sensibility. We're starting to breathe again. It feels good, solid, real. It's real because we've been THROUGH hell, and now we're on the ascent.

The spirit is stronger and deeper than the material world. The War System that we live under does not have the power to change my mind, even if it drops one of its nukes directly on my head. To change my mind, it has to dialogue with me and treat me like a human being, and that it does not know how to do. Iraq too shows that there are limits to what the Empire can achieve with death and destruction.

The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. ~Black Elk, Oglala Sioux

Thanks Michael for yet another great post. Great comment expressed here. I read somewhere that peace will prevail and some of the changes we will see are, borders dissolving,
religions becoming celebration centres and marriages become obsolete. I imagine that means that there will be no hoards of immigrants since there would be no reason for them to leave their homes and there would no organized religion but rather a coming together to celebrate source energy, lastly marriage of the heart is probably a stronger commitment than any document. Ceremonies would be performed so that couples could celebrate their love/vows with family and friends. Actually it sounds a little farfetched and idealistic but I can see sense in it. I am sure there will be many changes and they are all welcomed as long as the change has taken love into account as the most important factor.
