THIS is the "Change We Need". Let the right wingers pound the table and the liberal hearts bleed. The two party system is a total scam indeed. America is waking up, seeing the forest through the trees. Agreed? WE are the ones we have been waiting for. OCCUPY TOGETHER - OCCUPY WITHIN. Peace!

"Be the change you want." Get our sh-- together, get our heads around and through what is and what is not. Then we can make change.

Undirected anger and misunderstood rage is self-defeating. It leads to attacking symptoms instead of diseases and targeting personalities instead of looking at the systemic issues and perverse incentives. The cult of the personality is a conjob. We need to look deeper.

Couldn't agree more!

We are no longer trapped inside a one-dimensional "Spectrum". The enemy is not "On the Left" or "On the Right": It's on the TOP.

The struggle is not waged without, over superficial "wedge issues". It's waged within: To be or not to be. Do we put our faith in war -- in the god of death and destruction? Or do we surrender our arrogance and humbly seek out the god of life and love?

Do we polish the outside of the cup (Matthew 23:25) like the Pharisees suggest? Or do we think about the justice that the cup is supposed to hold?

"God seeks comrades and claims love; the Devil seeks slaves and claims obedience." -- Rabindranath Tagore, "Fireflies", 1928

Thank you so much Michael!

And may i say to any out there who have not yet participated in an Occupy event.. If you wan that deep rush and satisfaction that you have the power to help not 0nlt yourself but others, and maybe you're afraid for some reason to become involved in a big action, know that there are hundreds of smaller actions you can participate in that all contribute to the greater good.
Try going to just one local GA, you don't even have to have a question..but if you listen i'm sure you'll think of one.
You'll meet great people and will feel a sense of really belonging to something..and just by going your making a big difference! 1love

I have both of Leonard Cohen's "Occupy" songs and videos saved on my YouTube account. He, Nickelback and Manka have all written the kind of songs that have inspired us in the past and I hope will again. Occupy! Don't forget this isn't about a cause this is about life as we - all of us chose to make it. Fight this crap!

"Citizens criticized by tightly wound media machinery are heroes. True heroes, sleeping in the park, taking on the dark, sleeping under plastic sheets, getting arrested in the streets, surrounding the houses of criminal elites - having the courage to Occupy Wall Street. THIS is the "Change We Need". Let the right wingers pound the table and the liberal hearts bleed. The two party system is a total scam indeed. America is waking up, seeing the forest through the trees. Agreed? WE are the ones we have been waiting for. ... Very few people yet understand that this so-called 1 Percent does not just consist of the psychopathic power elite, but it also includes violent religious theologies, dogmatic political ideologies, failed economic policies, corrupt political ponzi schemes and materialistic ideas about the American Dream. To live outside that scene you must be sane. The 99 Percent are those with the courage and clarity to see the fallacy and break free of a totally rigged game. The way that we, the 100 Percent have been living is something we can no longer sustain. The only way is up and the only way out is to change."

OWS is going to be what the people make it. I hope we can focus on things that will help all 7 Billion Humans, flying through space on Beautiful Mother Earth.

Since we need sound money, which we have never had, lets gt out of the Fed. The best way I've hard to do that, is to follow what North Dakota has been doing fine with for 90 years, with its State Bank. Other States are studying how to do it.

If we don't fix Healthcare, the price will double in 10 years, probably with less care. Vermont's and Montana's Single Payer could very well be worth other States checking out. Just Imagine that drug companies cared more for health and less for profit.

And need we mention that ending the wars is a must. Why the hell not close all over seas Military Bases, and put the Vets, and others to work rebuilding this Broken Promised Land?

But on other thing: Communities should study how to set up the Worker Ownership of the Mondragon Cooperative, of the Basque in Spain. There is an Evergreen Cooperative in Cleveland, and Richmond California, is putting people to work by starting smaller Cooperatives. Its a better way to work. Don't we all want that?

Changes will come when most understand how this corrupt system has worked for them, The feeding line of lies, the deceptions, the war on terror all done in the name of PEACE to protect us. The greed is the disease, the war is the sickness, the healing is Love, the answer is Unite, NOW is the time! Thanks Michael.

I have a craving to make some of my legendary peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I first made these sandwiches decades ago when some friends and I tried to levitate the pentagon. It did not rise into the air or disappear. My friends said my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches gave them comfort and solace during that failed endeavor. Then I took my sandwiches to different gatherings where we were always getting closer to the problem. The 1968 police riot at the Democratic National Convention, Kent State. Then they retired for a while until the Battle in Seattle where we were very close. BUT NOW!!!! I have an occupy video on my profile page and my son is in the video. And, he is with people that know that "Capitalism is the Crises." I watch that video about twice a day to see my son. AND, I am thinking of doing some occupying with my son and my cookies this Spring and Summer. Thank you all for the perceptive comments. Special thanks to Michael, Calliope, Charles, Henriette, Dandelion, Toni, Dave.

Agreed Norm C. All the personality cults - except Leonard's.

More, and more recently, on him:
FIRST LISTEN: Leonard Cohen, 'Old Ideas'

As Patti Smith put it, "...No longer presidents but prophets."

And, by all means, look deeper.

Oh, hell, one more from Leonard:

Police arrested Magic and Magic went
with them for Magic loves the hungry. . . . This I mean to whisper to
my mind. This I mean to laugh with in my mind. This I mean my mind
to serve til service is but magic moving through the world and mind
itself is Magic coursing through the flesh, and flesh itself is Magic
dancing on a clock, and time itself the magic length of G_d.

"Occupy is a rousing cry-very good tear jerker crowd stuff-Not much effort on the whole =lots of feel good holding hands together feeling of virtue and all-Think we might bear that in mind-also that each of us in our own grab for goodies has supported this debacle.
Another thing worth remembering (if what has been said on the net is true in this case),is thata man who made his fortune from a collapsed economy and public upheaval may be financing this via the buggerup movement in Canada
And yet another thing is that the goverment has awesome machinery and powers behind which we are all paying for-The forces of"law and order are bound to be ramped up by this demo and citizen's rights could well be eroded further with this demo as an excuse

Unless government forces entrusted with law and order enlist with the protesters there could be bugger all hope of real success I would say-The sort of thing I am talking about is the Egyptian Army syndrome
and Battleship Ptomkin etc-and the violence that could be unleashed could do immense damage.

Threatened people tend to draw their heads in and stick to what they are doing however immoral, illegal or illogical; They tend to lie, fudge the facts do coverups and attempt violence of the passive or all too active variety.
I believe we should bear this in mind.
A bit of cyber tampering on the other hand might be highly effective-not that I recommend it

Also a bit of long term patience ,fortitude, courage ,honesty and self discipline and kindness even generosity
a bit of sharing and caring on the part of us all might not be so exciting but might well genuinely
help
