For some reason, I'm unable to load the page. I value what the Cherokees are doing. It's what they have been doing for their families through the years...teaching them valuable information on what they really need to know.

This is right up my alley. Here in the desert of Central California where I live, the Prickly Pear Cactus grows wild and proliferates all over the desert floor. The Indians and South Americans used this miracle plant for food, water and medicine. For over 12,000, this cactus has been consumed for its nutritional and healing qualities.

About 5 years ago, we planted a small prickly pear cactus. Today, it stands 6 ft high x 4 ft wide and produces enough nopales (vegetable from prickly pear pads) and pears (fruit) to provide for our family. We have since planted several more and invite neighbors to nourish themselves from these plants and cut the pads to start their own. This is an overall food that creates many vegetable dishes, juices, teas, jams, honey, sweet treats, salad dressing and healing properties for the body.

I mention all this because what we need is usually right under our noses in our environment in the form of a plant, weed or growth that we assume is worthless. Watch the animals and what they eat. They have not lost their natural sensing device that directs them to what they need from the earth.

We often complain about the government, big business or the "system." Well, if you are buying from the system, why complain? Learn to do things for yourself and you won't care what the system is doing. Eventually, enough of us will be taking care of our own needs and relying less on the system.

Get in touch with your environment, nature and YOU. You will discover that everything you need has been provided for you for free or almost free. You will live longer and be happier for it as a result.

Teach. Care. Share. Thanks, Terry!
