I hope that the government will recognise the marriage, it would be a terrible shame that the son of a vet is denied the opportunity to live in the country his father died for.

Thanks noted, A thought for the grandparents. DNA test to prove beyond doubt that the child is their grandchild and the woman is the birth mother, take that to the Immigration Department, and fill out papers to sponsor them, give them a home. With the Military already supporting her and the child this should be the answer to the dilemma.
