AGOURA HILLS, CALIF. -- The dread of high school algebra is lost here amid the blue glow of computer screens and the clickety-clack of keyboards.

I can see why this is happening, with books charging ever more to be replaced, and technology going so fast that by the time a book is purchased and distributed among the students, much information can already be outdated or needs to be in there.
My son when in High School in Florida already had a few classes he completed on computer only. I did not mind as I was so tired of my daughter having to share a book with another student in the classroom and no one could bring it home to study from as there was just the one book. My son seemed to have learned on the computer, and actually for him, he learned better on the computer.

This to me is a sad situation. The other day I asked 1 of my Granddaughter's if she knew the Constitution did they learn this in school. No she said she knows of it from home of course, IMO it's robbing the kids of brain power & basic memorization of basic knowledge.

What a loss to society.. a book can go anywhere, but a computer can't.. Books are trhe backbone of education and shoudl be enforced and appreciated in all classrooms.
