The federal government recommended Tuesday that a rare 2-inch butterfly that once fluttered over much of the Bay Area and now lives only in Santa Clara County be designated an endangered species.

With bees so endangered from colony collapse disorder caused by pesticides which are effecting all insect pollinators, it does not surprise me that yet another pollinator, this small precious butterfly be included in the official endangered list. There is very little habitant left for this pollinator in busy location on which it depends.

So sad b/c Humans have invaded so much of nature's habitats it causes a domino affect.
