This is very sad. A life cut short for no good reason.

Drinking and driving is a very irresponsible behaviour! If one does not care about one's life, at least think about others!

Tragic. Restrict alcohol; legalize marijuana.

That is so sad. It is really too bad that someone at the realtives home-where they left--had not thought to take the car keys. she sounds like she was a very caring individual. She had the potential to help many children in her lifetime. She was taken too soon.

'More and more people are finding themselves able to kick sometimes long-term, damaging and expensive alcohol habits without any of the uncomfortable symptoms of withdrawal which normally comes with long-term addictions, and they are doing it thanks to cannabis'

He should be tried for first degree murder. Nobody made him drink that much. Nobody made him get into that car. Many may feel this is excessive, but I have no compassion for anyone who drinks and drives. That is as irresponsible as playing Russian Roulette, but pointing the gun at another.

If you drive - don't drink, if you drink - don't drive. Is that'so hard to understand?

Thannxxx Terry.. what a tragic ending to a wuuunderful day for this couple.. unfortunately it will be something he will regret and have to live with for the rest of his life... there should be more campaigns against drinking and driving, just like they are doing with the smoking..

First off, I'd like to clarify my earlier posts. I am totaly against driving while under the influence of any mind altering substance. From cannabis to cold medicines.
The problem lies in the fact that our culture PROMOTES alcohol use! Every single sporting event is sponsored by Big Alcohol.
I can only imagine how many lives would have been spared in this century, if in the 1930's the roles of alcohol and cannabis had been reversed. But no, we push our children to choose alcohol while we lie to them about a substance that would be an immensely SAFER CHOICE!

I can quarantee you, a Brooklyn teacher would be alive today if her boyfriend was a 'pothead' instead of an alcoholic. The studies done by our own U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION
confirm that.
