A more proper solution would be to move the bison from a place man put them and they do not belong to a place where bison are supposed to be.

It's just sort of strange...and and gives me a weird feeling in my gut. There are different ways for us as humans to live here...

hurry finally humans are being responsible and humane both. this is great news if it works on the bison maybe other wildlife will begin to get this and we wont need to hunt and cull our wildlife.

this should have been tried yrs ago as the technogoy has been available for decades.

Yep, it does seem weird but I have to admit, it seems a lot more humane than just going out and "culling" them (clubbing, shooting, corralling and slaughtering) like humans seem to think is the solution to all other "overpopulation" problems; wolves, horses, kangaroos, toads, seals, etc.

Every human born or living now should be on the pill or the equivalent of until the age of thirty........Mandated by law. And that will give the animals a chance to live & catch upin their own populations!!!!!!!!!

Plant & protect trees for life.....................

P.S.............There are so many of us now what on earth is the hurry in adding even one more????????

Thanks Ty...

I am totally upset about this article and can't see to type through my wet eyes...

Catalina Island is so close to where I live and what is going on is just crazy.

Great article, just hurts my heart, and like a TON of people said, it is people that need birth control, not these special animals...what is wrong with this WORLD???

These comments are totally right --- B.M. Star coming at ya for your comment....couldn't of said it better.

I am totally upset that this is going on, but JEEPERS, this is happening all over. Mankind is just a stupid FOOL and there is no stopping him with everything that he has done to our special creatures.

Frankly, in a perfect WORLD, we would get back to the days of the Indians, take what we need to survive, leave all else alone.

This World is totally distroyed and Mankind (in my opinion) will not rest until they have gotten all they can, minerals, animals etc, etc...so upsetting....just shaking my head that I am still living here to witness this, and totally sad for all of the children that will miss this!

What a disgusting thing to do. Forcing contraceptives on animals so they don't interfere with are heavily overpopulated species. And I'd be interested to hear how exactly this contraceptive works, since their claiming it's totally unharmful. Considering we've yet to develop a contraceptive for women that has no ill effects involved, I don't believe a word of it. And unless they can speak bison, they wouldn't know if it caused ill effects or not, there can obviously be side effects that aren't visible.

Leave them alone and ship the surplos to breeding programs elsewhere.

TY marilyn for the star!!!!

And, it is not a good plan so other animals benefit.
Man will only go onto the next creature that stands
in the way of his next fabulous stadium or golf course!!

Right! And the more I read of stories like this the more
I'm totally convinced man is not smart at all. In fact I
do believe man as a whole is slightly cracked.

What an outrage it would be if the animals decided there
were to many of us!!!!!!! And, for once the animals would
be 100% correct along with many other atrosocities man has
heaped upon the animals, land & seas.

Seemingly we serve only our pleasures at the expense
of animals and their freedom to be................

Plant & protect trees for life..................

Human are starving human--think of all the food we could send...instead of this solution--mium Bison meat better than beef--sorry for you vegan---Export the bison to Africa...They do good in summer heat on the Plains..There is always a better solution...
Give anticonception pills to some human that have problems feeding their own instead...and I agree with all the above.

B. M. (120)

Export the Bison to Africa??!!
Are you kidding! The animals there in
all of Africa are fighting for their very survival
because of too many people. And, the more
you feed the people the more of them there
will be.

So.......Keep the Bison free & where they are
and give overpopulated countries aid in the
form of birth control & teaching them farming
skills.

The whole world needs help in understanding
the impact of humans on the lives of all
animals. In a word more animals & far fewer
of us.....................

Plant & protect trees for life..................

Hmm ... I really don't know WHAT to think of this .. I guess it's a good idea .. Better than just shooting them . And they said that a smaller herd is healthier / bigger sized etc. So ... Anyway , it's lucky for us humans that some group of animals can't get together and decide to " thin us out " , although we sure could use it .

Guess that 'dominion' thing means humans are supposed to manipulate everything on the planet - probably right out of existance.

B M, I think the Pope should be taken to task over the Church's stand on proliferation. He sits on his golden throne and states catholics must breed as many children as possible, that those who use contraception are sinners. Then you have the other side of the coin as in the Asian and African countries that keep breeding children to take care of them in old age. I would rather see animals sterilized than left to suffer from starvation. So if birth control is needed what is the harm.

Ok... here's a thought (which would NEVER be acceptable to cowboys) If they want birth control, why not castrate the males or give them a vasectomy?

Once again, in government, and on the wild plains, man feels some sort of need to tinker with the reproductive female

I APPLAUD this move. A very humane way to keep their population compact. It's a pity they hadn't done this in Australia to keep the IMPORTED camel herd down (it's estimated at a million) & they are causing serious problems to homeowners right now.

Black T........The pope & all of his menagerie of sinful
child molesting dimwits should be run into a a deep well
of hot Kentucky Fried Chicken oil!!!!!! And, all their million
dollar robes & crowns hocked to save a few thousand animals
from starvation.

And, you are so right about the church's spewing all that chatter
about no birth control........Are you crazy!
Hmmmm, a few billion humans should be sterilized pronto!
Who needs all these billions of babies who want, want & want more
resources than what the earth has or can provide!
Animals procreate in just the right numbers to keep their species going..

Birth control for animals to control their numbers for what? So we
dumbass humans can proliferate ourselves out of existence?

Noooooo thank you. Man has & will continue to rape the earth
dry of everything it has left.......Animals never will no matter
how many of them there are.

And, Octomom & all her copycat follwers should be sent to
an island to fend for themselves & see how they like it!!

Plant & protect trees for life.....................

And, the same greed applies to trees!! Yes, trees!!!!!

Perhaps it's enviromental degradation and other man-made factors (e.g. electromagnetic waves from cell phones) that disorient wild animals?

B. M I totally agree it is us humans that need to stop reproducing. Because none of us die from natural causes anymore. The scientists have messed with the ultimate plan of life and now we are all paying the price. Yep no more survival of the fittest anymore. No now the weak go on to breed and produce more weakluings and create more and more genetic defects and other severe problems in the human rce. maybe that is why there are so many evil ones out there? Anyway It sounds like female pigs were probably tortured or abused for this birth control vaccine. I smell a rat and I don't like it!!! Thanks Terry

In order for human to have more "lebensraum" (space to live in), all other species must be culled or sterilized. However, it should be the other way around: vasectomize male babies now before there is no room left for other living beings!

Amen Christoph.......Amen!

The world population & all of the worlds cloned humans boggles my mind & at the same time scares me to death. How are we to survive and even more so how are the animals to survive at all??

How isit possible that beings like us with the so called intelligence we have create such a horrible mess as mass starvation among us as well as the animals??

Man is way past removing his rose colored glasses & still dreaming of a heavenly utopia of what? How much longer can we hold out before mass riots & civil wars engulf the globe simply because there are so many of us & too few animals who would not destroy one thing living as they do .....And, not like us!

Plant & protect trees for life...................
