HAMILTON - Officials and locals are hoping a mountain lion killed last week in the Fred Burr Creek drainage is the same animal that's been killing pets and livestock in the area for several months now

Is this really necessary? These animals are just doing what comes naturally to them! Humans are encroaching upon THEIR living space, not the other way around! Are we only going to be happy when ALL of nature is gone?

I don't understand why they had to kill it. Cougars are my favorite big cat! Couldn't they just have relocated him? :(

I am sick of humans killing animals because they are a 'problem'.
What are these animals SUPPOSED to do? We have taken over the planet and they are simply trying to survive!!!

I Live in Colorado... most states are supposed to capture and release animals like big cats in the rocky mountains. Why didn't they do this for this guy? it's not far. yeah they eat your pets but it's winter.. and they are starving. if you don't want them eating your pets then don't keep then outside for hours and if you don't want them eating your livestock then there are ways to keep big cats like this away from them. Killing is just an easy fix. what if this big cat has cubs? most big cats live in packs. There is no excuse for killing an innocent animal when it could have easily been relocated to the Rocky Mountain national park and lives a long healthy life.

This is terrible. Seems once an animal becomes a problem, it's killed, no questions asked. Like that would ever happen with humans!

If you don't like cougars, don't move into their territory.

They are HOPING!!!!!! What the freak is wrong with these people!!!!? Sure he probably killed a few pets, but they are the ones living on his property!!!!! He is starving what else is he supposed to eat? I agree with you Roseann, some people always complain about cougars, wolves, coyotes, bears, bobcats, if you don't like it don't bug it!!!
