Mexico has slammed the U.S. for its 'disproportionate use of force' after a boy of 14 was shot dead by an American Border Patrol officer. U.S. officials claim the guard was defending himself and his colleagues when he gunned down the teenager on the

My son made the point that if he threw a stone at a police officer here, the cop would shoot him too. They love their guns.

There was no excuse for shooting this boy, there are other ways to handle this without shooting someone.

Outrageous. Warning shots would have been more than enough to scare these children away. The agent responsible should face murder charges. An interesting comment was "What if it was an American child that was shot by a Mexican agent?" Sadly I doubt the reaction would be the same.

How tragic. Scott has it right, "What if it was an American child that was shot by a Mexican agent?"

has anyone heard the song killing in the name by rage against the machine? its about this, abusive police. then again, the officer probably wasn't trying to kill him, but still, shooting was inexcusable.

Target practice should not be on humans it should be on paper targets.

This is terrible a police office with a gun "defending" himself against a child with stones is entirely disproportionate use of force.

In no civilzed country is crossing a border subject to a death penalty.

You mean these big brave American clods could not catch a 14-year-old kid, box his ears if he really was in the US, and send him back home across the river bed?

These US Border Patrol b*stards better not bother my boat her in the Thousand Islands when I am in Canadian waters because recently I have cameras and go armed, and I will fire first.

Big brave man shot an unarmed child.... because the child was throwing stones.. I am not sure I even believe that, how can any one take the word of someone who shots a child ...

It's not only the Israeli soldiers who are trained to be ruthless and act insane.

Noted and thank you Lone Wolf !

This wouldn't happen if people didn't give themselves permission to be prejudice towards a different race of people.

I was afraid this sort of thing would happen after the Arizona law was passed .There are people whose view of Mexicans is so hateful they don't even think of them as humans who should be treated as such.

I feel for the parents grieving for the loss of their child today all because of one persons hatred .

Why is there so much hate and killing in the world today ? What happened to humanity ? This is too sad !

The whole situation is very sad. The border patrol agent I am sure has a lot of inner feelings to deal with. I know he cannot be happy to have killed another human being. Yet he was doing his job. He was defending his life as well. Rocks can kill as well as bullets. It would certainly be critical, for our government to immediately address all these problems we are having with immigration and our borders. I send my prayers to the parents and family of the boy that was killed. We should not be so quick to point fingers in matters such as this. I would ask people to look at both sides of the issue.

I honestly don't think its doing your job when you kill someone who has thrown a stone at you .If this border patrol person felt in danger from the rock being thrown at him then why didn't he aim to injure him and not kill this boy ? He didn't have to kill him !
Now that is looking logicly at both sides of the story !
I have a 15 year old grandson and if he threw a rock at someone and they shot and killed him for that act I would want more than your prayers and I feel sorry for your family , I would want justice !
I don't care who you are a policeman or border patrol you don't have the right to kill someone just because they throw a rock at you .

Americans have become so desensitized towards killing with all the wars our country starts for no reason with soveriegn countries and our countries aiding and abetting the killing and taking of the Palestinians land that soon some of you will agree that its okay to kill someone whose words offend you .
As I asked before . Where has our empathy gone where has our conscience gone ? Have we returned to the barbaric ages ?
I am totally discusted with humanity as it is today !

I wasn't going to allow this thoughtless incident to affect me as badly as it has but one persons thoughtless words here have really angered me ,so here it goes I am tired of holding back my feelings.

I am so sick to death of hearing people who call themselves Christians acting so hypercritical, useing such thoughtless words offering prayers to a family whose 14 year old son was shot in the head and killed for the offence of throwing stones while in the same breath making excuses for the border patrol guard that killed him . No REAL Christian would ever condone this killing whether it was done buy a border patrolman or a policeman.

This is what the boys father and mother said ,,NOW THEY ARE TRUE CHRISTIANS !
The dead teenager's father Jesus Hernandez said: 'There is a God, so why would I want vengeance if no one will return him to me.
'They killed my little boy and the only thing I ask is for the law to be applied.'
His wife was less hopeful. Maria Guadalupe Huereca said: 'May God forgive them but I know nothing will happen to him .

You want us to look at both sides ? I have and here is some logic ?
Did you bother to read the story and look at the pictures ?
Look at that picture ,now look at the distance across the river that these boys would have to throw these stones to hurt anyone .It is highly unlikely that anyone on the US side would ever be injured by one of these stones thrown by these children. Now look again at the picture of the 14 year old boy laying on the ground dead with blood seeping from his head .
Have you no heart ? His blood is red just like yours, he is human and he is someones child . What does it take to wake people like you up and give you a conscience ?
How dare you make any excuses for the border guard that did this .

I know we all have a right to our own oppinion but I am sorry some people are so digusting with their words of hate and bigotry that I feel they need a good tongue lashing

I have to agree with Linda; I am sure it is not the policy of the border agents to kill children for throwing stones. I canít believe that police in the USA can lawfully shoot children for throwing stones either. At the point when the agent aimed his rifle I would say that it was personal racially motivated hatred, outrage at Sergios defiance and completely ignorant thoughtlessness of the magnitude and severity of his action. This agent is a sociopath; he is obviously devoid of conscience and is a dangerous liability. It was not his job that was the motivation behind the action. If I am corrected with evidence to the contrary I would be even more horrified. I see no excuse or mitigating factors here. If there is a fair justice system in the USA then the agent will be charged with murder or sectioned under mental health grounds of diminished responsibility.

it's sad that it had to end this way, but it is just another everyday element on securing the border

So im pretty sure im the only one here who has heard the other details. The boy was a drug trafficker. He had been deported on charges of smuggling drugs and helping people cross the border illegally. Besides it was not just him throwing rocks, their were mobs. These rock throwing mobs are so bad that border agents trucks have to be outfitted with rock proof bars so the agents are killed by malicious Mexican mobs. Rocks, especially when thrown at the head can kill. 20-30 US border agents are killed each year because of similar rock throwing incidents. What, was the agent supposed to do wait until he had been seriously hurt before defending himself against people throwing rocks over the border at him? This 15 year old tried to enter the US illegally, am i the only one here who is defending the actions of a valiant man?
