Just change the names to Mexico and the United States and give as much concern and worry as you do this group.

Mary S. I concur and thank goodness there are at least a few of us with current events knowledge, not to say this is not a historical atrocity. People that believe slavery is something from the past probably believe child abuse and animal abuse are not interwoven. Just review how the USA built our embassy in Iraq.

The only difference between cavemen and modern day men is technology. We remained convinced in supernatural powers and the strongest takes all. Barbarisms are as much of our lives today as in the beginning. People are unaffected and basically do not give a shit how their products are made or the suffering behind the production of them. Praise the Lord and thank God all Christians are all up in arms and committed to changing the cruelty.

YES! there are many American children, mostly little girls, that are taken into Mexico and sold. What a travesty -- what cruelty! Unfortunately this is happening all over the world in many countries. U.S. pimps buying foreign slaves for sex, Africans selling girls for sex slaves, Muslims kidnapping Christian girls and marrying them to convert them, Dalits in India being sold as slaves. It is atrocious!! There are times I cannot believe this is happening to people. My prayers are for all those that are enslaved. I thank God daily for service men and women who fight for the oppressed in other countries to stop this. And I pray for those that turn and do these attrocities would turn their hearts around and see the damage they do to these people, as well as to their own souls!

Slavery is terrible and its a shame that it has become to such a large extent a part of global society. Despite arguements that slavery and very cheap labourers are necessary for the economy, and commodity prices can stay as they are, this is not true. A re-shuffling of the profits would allow workers to get a bit more pay and a little less bonus for company CEO's. Also if workers were paid more they would actually have money to contribute to their own countries economy.

I am urging the Australian Government to take action on human trafficking in Asia. Go to and take action by sending the pre-written letter to members of parliament and also to sign a petition. You can also send a letter to your own government, urging them to take action.

Unbelievable that this is still going on in this day and is big business in those countries! It is a terrible shame that greed is so rampant and compassion is so non-existent! Ty, Lone

Noted, thank you for the article. No surprise either, China treats their own people the same, unless their rich. Sounds like the US doesn't it?
