Even though this tree was in the middle of nowhere -- reportedly 250 miles from any other tree -- it was still hit by a car, twice (that we know of).

Trees are living, breathing and vital to our world. We lose so many... have you ever touched a tree (not hugged but touched lightly), you can feel their spirit, their soul and their connection to other trees. You have to silence the thoughts in your head to feel this... but yes you can really feel yourslef bind to the earth and know instinctively, that there is a balance.

Our balance is so interrupted now. We talk about the animals that disappear, the people that starve or the terrible incidents that occur daily on this planet. But, it all starts with the trees, plants and vegetation here on earth. We are destroying it at a faster pace than any cataclismic meteiorite, or volcanic action... we are killing our own lungs.

This single tree hung on for years without a support mechanism from others of its kind. It's death is symbolic of how we humans regard them as little more than fuel for our excessive, materialistic demands. We are doomed to ecosystem collapse and extinction if we do not change our thinking.

People just don't care about the small things in life like they did in the old days.

drunks in the Sahara driving into the only tree for humdreds of miles...kind of like the moth effect...where people drive into police cars with their lights flashing along the side of the road and no one else around.

Sad to see that a tree that lived for so long in a harsh climate was needlessly battered by a drunk driver including yet another victim in their irresponsible actions.

Trees are marvellous entities, leaves facing the sky and deep roots into the ground, filled with fascinating wisdom and energy.
