"The abuse went on for months before I finally hit my breaking point. It's been over a year and I have my life back. I have a job and childcare for my son. I feel safe, but Sprint still wants $200 or my abuser could access my phone records to find me."

Thanks, Kit, I signed too. I am horrified that Sprint would make it so difficult for people who have been savagely beaten to merely get the name of their attacker off their account. We need to teach all of our children that violence is unacceptable. We especially need to teach our boys that aggressiveness, competitiveness, insensitivity to others, and violence will NOT make them men. The ability to care and to nurture others is as much a quality of men as traditional notions of maleness: we need to create a society that values gentleness. I hope everyone spreads this petition far and wide. Sprint must change. Institutional violence against people who have already been violated is just plain wrong.

To be honest, as a Brit I have no idea what Sprint is. But if Brian says that this petition needs signing then that's good enough for me.

Signed it is.

Roger, I'd send you a green star, but the system says it's too soon. Sprint is a cellular phone service that penalizes victims of domestic violence by charging them $200 just to get their abuser's name off the account. So, basically, they are victimizing the victims a second time.

Gladly signed. I can't believe Spring would take advantage of victims of abuse like this. So sickening.

Noted and signed. Thank You for this article Brian.
It is so sick that a corporation like Sprint would not keep information confidential in the case of abuse, stalkers, bullies etc. There is no compassion anymore!!!

Petition signed.

Women and children who have been victims should not be penalized.

Whoever the person in the sprint organization thought of this policy should be taken behind the
woodshed and given a strong spanking and reprimanded.

Ty, Brian.
