Think we can't live without plastic? Think again. In 2007 I committed to stop buying any new plastic & I've almost succeeded! Won't you join me?"--Beth Terry

If you buy meat or produce just ask them for butchers paper and have them re-wrap the meat if enough people did this, the stores would change their policies. Don't put your produce in plastic bags, demand paper bags. It's only in the past 40 to 50 years that plastic has become a weird "must have" we lived without plastic much longer than we have lived with plastic. Wrap left overs in foil, don't buy plastic products.

Plastic-Free Life ... nice fantasy, and/or pathetic wish-fulfilment self-deception on which most Lifestyleism is based

Take, e.g. polar-bears and penguins: Methinks, we can safely assume, that not one of them EVER bought one microgram of (e.g:) DDT (or PCB or or or or...), and yet not one of them, and not one drop of their mothers' milk and not one of their eggs respectively is free from said poison(s)

I don't buy any new plastic and don't use plastic bags. It's really hard to avoid though.

@FrackOffline I just discovered this entry and comments now or I would have responded to you a month ago. Please, before you judge, do a little more investigating. There are good reasons for individuals to take personal action and make personal lifestyle changes. Is it enough? No. Is it important? Damn right it is. In fact, it's critical. Here's why: Or if you don't want to watch the entire 12 minute video, please read my post, "8 Reasons Why Personal Changes Matter" here:
