I can't believe that is all he gets. That is pathetic. I have no respect for the Marines anymore. If that is the best they can do for such a horrific act on an innocent animal, screw them. He is nothing but scum of the earth and I hope he has nothing but misfortune for the rest of his miserable life. Please let me wipe that smirk off his face. LOSER!

I'll start off by saying I'm glad he got kicked out of the marines & I'll end it by saying he SHOULD/NEEDS TO BE thrown off a cliff just like he did the puppy.

Military personel are held to a higher code of conduct than is seen in civilian life...it is therefore very frustrating and disapointing that these few marines see some lives as less important and therefore disposable. I realize that he has been seperated fom the service (prbably with a dishonorable, meaning no retiree percs; loans, education, etc, maybe even insurance), but if the pup had been human - any human - there would have trials hearings and jail time....So it comes back to us that our animal protection laws are not strong enough to protect the little furballs we consider family ! My furballs are important to me and when I look out and see and hear these things it makes me sick to think of how those furbies feel with no love and no one looking out for them to hold back the hell that they must be living in !!

I have seen this before but, just kicking him out and thats it!!! Thats NOT JUSTICE!!! at all he needs to be stripped of everything and left there NOT allowed back in America, for to me he is a terriost. I hope when people see him they will know who he is and that it haunts him for the rest of his life, and the other jerks that was with him. After all they were 3 of them in on it 2 were laughing and 1 running the camera. none of them should be allowed back in America!!! This would be the greatest punishment for them. Thanks In a Mirror Darky

This is universal justice in the truer sense in my humble opinin. What one does to the world does come back to you...tenfold. In other wrds..what goes arund..comes around...eventually.

I'm glad that the Marines took this action. I'm a bit surprised, actually. I also can't help but think that its primary motive was the publicity, though, and not just the inhumane action. I'm also concerned that this may make the Marines and others more careful to hide their abuse, rather than stop. But it may stop a few, and it may make them think about what their loved ones at home feel about their actions. I'm glad to see this one kicked out.

Thank you for sharing! However I think that the punishment is not enough. This is not justice. That person should get some education, to really learn from this inhumane action. I do agree with Karen, that from now on, they will try to "hide" their abuse.~

Of course, I totally agree that what this Marine did was unexcusable, and he deserves to be kicked out of the Marines.

But really...what can we expect? We (or at least, the government of the US) expect these Marines to go out and kill _PEOPLE_ on a daily basis, making this their JOB (and thus teaching them it's OK). It's not surprising that they lose any respect for life...human or animal...that they may have started with, so of course atrocities like this (or worse) happen. It all has to do with the inhumanity and inherent cruelty of war. If the government would just work on making peace rather than making war, we'd see a lot less of this type of thing.
