The mysterious dark matter that makes up most of the matter in the universe could be composed, in part, of invisible and nearly intangible counterparts of atoms, protons and electrons, researchers say.

Sounds interesting but, really, could not understand much. Surely a journey to the unknown is always fascinating, and I would very much appreciate it if I could be made to understand some practical applications of this knowledge. This from a rather naive reader.
