Who was the first human to pester a swan, pick up a poison dart frog, or cuddle a kangaroo? That name has been lost in prehistory, but the ill-advised tradition continues.

In my line of work I have to face off a critter now and then. The worst? Swans!! I once was trying to catch a small cygnet to remove a large triple hook embedded in it's chest; I was sore for a week from the beatings I received from Mumms and Father.

Thanks, Giana! Loved this one!

Some classic cases of looks can be deceiving.
It is always wise to maintain caution when approaching any wild animal.

Very informative. Thanks for sharing. They are called wild for a reason.

Interesting article! I was once chased by a swan whilst I was walking down the canal at around 14 years old. It scared the life out of me, but I realised that the swan was only trying to protect its children. Everyone who walked past got attacked though, even cyclists!
