Now that is a really good pet parent! Very proud of her decision to value her daughter's happiness and her pet's life more than a diamond earring. Kudos to her!

Heh heh! I'd probably do the same thing, if the rooster was a pet.

Chickens don't do surgery well: apparently they have no ability to adjust their body temperature just after surgery and overheat or suffer a chill. It's also horrendously expensive - probably more than the diamond is worth!

Fascinating and intriguing...of course there could be one day when the jewel earring moves around a bit inside the chicken's gizzard and is dislodged from where it's stuck now...then the chicken will dispose of it in the natural I have heard of the 'Poop and Scoop' laws for dogs. One can wonder if perhaps the chicken will dispose of it the natural way later on making the ring harder to find. And then, there was the carrot lady in Sweden who found her wedding ring that had been lost in a garden (from compost) some 16 years later. The ring had been found wrapped around a carrot that had to grown to maturity.

Yes, Dale - it could well dislodge itself. I'm picturing a rooster with a diaper, and it's making me smile! :)
