In the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq archaeologists have discovered an ancient city called Idu, hidden beneath a mound.

I hope this site will be appreciated and protected, unlike the Mes Aynak one in Afghanistan which is in great danger of being destroyed by chinese mining operations of all things!

Perhaps in 2000 years they will uncover bones and relic in what was once the Washington, DC area and determine that s lower forms of life lived there and elsewhere that was curiously called the "GOP".

I'll bet this dig will be found to be much older than the 3000 years that is stated. There is way too much evidence now coming to light that shows civilizations go back at least 15000 years with some evidence dating to 200,000 years.
