I'm sure it's very good, but like all videos I try to watch, it only plays for a few seconds and then I get "error".
And I don't have a sound card in my computer, so can't hear anything either. But noted, and thanks :)

I was suprised that the opening was so low on the elephant not at all like a horse or cow. I am glad I didn't eat before watching this video there must have been 50 gallons or more of fluids. They could have put some straw or something down so it was not so slippery. Not at all a natural habitat.

Thank you so much Giana, for sharing this miracle of life with us!!! I have seen elephant births in the past, but never stop being amazed & emotional about seeing them. Thanks too, dearest Sara for sending this ~~

I love this video. I think I have seen it before because I was afraid the little baby was not going to make it. I could just feel that Mother's panic. I am glad everything worked out. Just think that little sweetie will be 4 this year. It was born on my Nephew's birthday.
What a wonderful video to share, thanks Giana. A couple of days ago I was watching the Smithsonian Channel and the birth a baby (boy) rhino. I sure wish she had not had to give birth on a concrete slab.

Thanks Giana, on one hand it's beautiful, and on the other it's makes me sick to see this great mom without any straw and being under cameras and lights shower, I'm sure elephants prefer to be alone! And this poor baby animal falling so hard on the concrete, his first contact with the earth... for a wild animal, my God, it's so ... so... I can't find the words for it. It makes me sad and I would love to see all those wild animals free and not in jail.

Thanks for sharing this video, Giana. I would have to agree along the lines of what a few others said - I, too, thought it was beautiful for the birth of a baby elephant, however, the idea of and watching the baby falling on the hard concrete is rather heartbreaking to me. It seems to me that some straw or something could have been provided to break the fall and not have it be such a 'rude awakening' for the newborn. In addition, I see the mother moved her foot as to not step on the baby - that was a scary moment as it was not moving at first. Surely, elephants do what they have to do in the wild, but since there was human intervention (in addition to it being filmed) there could have been more compassion from the humans in charge or helping to make it more comfortable for this baby elephant (and the mother) - in my humble opinion.

wonderful, although i agree it can be better for baby instead of slamming on concrete
I also hope they have access to outdoors rather than standing on concrete like so many others,,
It was wonderful to see mama so concerned and bringing her baby back..
he/she was TOO DAMN CUTE!!
perfect way to end the night after all the cruelty Ive seen on here Tonight
