Some ticks are nearly twice as likely than previously expected to carry not only the Lyme disease bacterium but also the organism that causes babesiosis, according to findings from a new study published in the journal PLOS ONE.

Ick, I hate ticks, thankfully don't live where they are thick, like the midwest. Even so, just pulled a nasty big one out of my dog today, and right next to it a little unattached one. Made me wonder if dogs are susceptible to any tick borne diseases.
