EDITH'S BATTLE TO SAVE HER DOGS ENDED THIS MORNING AT 3:45 AM. SHE PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL, COMOX, B.C. WITH JACQUES AT HER SIDE. HER ONLY CONCERN IN THESE LAST FEW DAYS HAS BEEN TO SEE CHUM AND CHAMP FREE AND ALTHOUGH SHE WAS NOT ABLE TO REUNITE WITH THEM SHE SMILED KNOWING THEY WERE SAFE FOR NOW. EDITH'S LAST REQUEST TO ME WAS THAT I KEEP FIGHTING TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE SAVED. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR REACHING OUT TO HER. SHE WAS COMFORTED IN THE KNOWLEDGE THAT YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS WERE WITH HER.

Thank you my friend for this sad news of Edith's death. My heart goes out to her husband and her beloved dogs that she so dearly loved and died for, god bless her, may she rest in peace! It's so sad that she never got to see Chum and Champ before she died but one consolation for Edith was that she knew that her fight to save her dogs will carry on as Buffy I know you will do that for her - you are truly amazing person!

So sad.. horrible what this family has been through. RIP Edith and condolences to Jacques who now must carry on without her. Hopefully, Chum & champ will be come home permanently very soon.

How very sad that her last moments could not have been spent knowing that her babies would be safe! We all know--or should know by now--the toll that added stress takes on one's body. When the body is already in a state of compromise, stress can and often does end the 'fight.' I feel a sense of utter loss and sadness for Edith and Jacques and for Chum and Champ as well. Might Edith still be here had it not been for the added stress of having her babies taken away so unnecessarily and unceremoniously? TOTALLY UNFORGIVABLE AND UNFAIR!!! Return them to Jacques!!! R.I.P. Edith...
