House Republicans misrepresent the facts. Experts predict the health care law will have little effect on employment.

"House Speaker John Boehner used the phrase "job-killing" to describe the health care law seven times on Thursday in a press conference that lasted less than 14 minutes — that’s once every 2 minutes. He also used the phrases "destroy jobs" and "destroying jobs" once each when talking about the law."

If the GOP didn't lie, they'd have nothing at all to say (which would be a huge improvement!)

The House Republicans bring shame to our government every time they open their lying mouths. I've been watching them all afternoon trying to get around the Bill passed by 89 and then finally voted to block the Bill. This Bill was for a 60-day extension for Unemployment Insurance, an extension of the payroll tax cut. Using their tricks and lies they are using just because they are trying to get a 1-year deal so they could sneak in the SL Piipeline. The Affordable Care Act certainly does not kill jobs. In fact, it will add jobs as more people can seek medical help. Lies and distortion: That is all they know. Why do they hate the American People so much that they refuse to pass anything that would help us? Why don't they want us to have Health Care; something that WE, the TAXPAYER pay for them to have?
NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN !!

Oops! It passed the Senate by 89 votes yesterday.,

Suddenly, we don't have wealthy or rich people in America, only "job creators." How is that one voting block of people can all suddenly "step" to the tune that the piper calls is beyond me. If the republicans don't like something, they tag a name on it.

The House would only allow 2-month extensions on 5 Bills in the House last year. This is nothing but trickery they are using now. They had agreed to the 2 month extension before the Senate voted on it and then sent it to the House for their vote. Suddenly they wanted to change the rules because they want the XL Pipeline in the Bill and 2 months would not give them time to get it done. The millionaires are not the job creators. The 99% are the job creators, it's just another R lie. They have voted against all Job Creation Bills, and we are supposed to think they are sincere about a job killing bill? Geez, they think we are stupid. They also cannot get it thru their heads that the Affordable Care Act is now LAW and want to change and kill it. Many people are very pleased with it and getting health care they sorely needed.

Yep, their masters want the pipeline and so will have it, and it will not be inspected nor will it be safe. Why? Because it's cheaper to pay the fines in Canada and the US then pay for the upkeep of a safe pipeline. When I say THEIR masters, I mean all of Congress. There is but a small number of Senators and House of representative not owned by the oil/gas/coal lobby.

Great strategy: ruin new legislation by tacking misleading labels onto its title. The GOP treats our citizens like fools who need to have things simplified for them --even if their simplifications are fabricated. Unfortunately, too many people fall victim to this propaganda. We need to do our homework and obtain our information from more than one source --and make sure those sources are reliable!

Job Killing--def. GOP speak for anything Obama and the Democrats do or support.
Job Creators--def. GOP speak for anyone who contributes $1,000 or more to their re-election campaign.
Uncertainty--def. GOP plan to do nothing useful, obstruct anything helpful and to blame Obama for everything so as to accomplish their primary goal of making him a one-term President.

Victoria, if we fined every politician, for every lie, we'd be a very wealthy country and not need taxes.

Very good definitions, Roger.

I am still waiting for those "job creators" to create some jobs here in the US, rather than in India and the Philipines.

Our GOP sold us a bill of goods, knowing full well that it would harm this nation.
I, for one am calling for their heads on a pike for their treason.

Thanks, KIt! Yep, the Republican machine thinks that if you tell the lie loud enough and often enough the public will believe it, unfortunately in some cases they are right! But one wonders just how long that strategy can work.... Love your definitions, Roger!

You want some Cheeze with that Whine? The Dummycrats and their un-American job-killing Patient Perversion and Un-Affordable Care Act are and have been in the wrong here. Ever since that filth Johnson crammed his Fake Society into our nation, it's been corroding. NEVER VOTE DEMOCRAT, these ilk want to sell us to enemies like China and Cuba! PPACA should die along with the rest of teh socialist garbage the Dummycrats have been forcing on us for the last half century or more. I will refuse to accept care from or to pay for PPACA!

I see Boehner's in step with using his weekly faxed list of GOP buzz words for their party to use to reinforce their propaganda message across the board. WMD's Words of Mass Destruction.

Fred Khron... As far as selling us out to China... You should credit that to BushCo...selling us out to China on an overextended line of credit to fund the BushCo Wars. And the GOP doesn't want to pay up now that payment is due. Typical of the ReWhackoCons.

Thanks Kit. More smoke and mirrors to distract us from the antics taking place behind the curtain. If you’re like me you can hardly wait for act 3. No doubt it’ll be a show stopper.

North Americans have no time off as it is, especially when they are sick. Numerous studies have indicated that one sick person in a shop could infect 20 people in one day, so why would healthcare and time off for recovery be such an issue. Perhaps if there was more job sharing and better wages the country could become productive again. Health care for a civilised country is vitally important. It show you are actually a caring society.

Lets see, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Douglas Elmendorf confirmed for the House Budget Committee in February that the Democrats’ health care law will destroy jobs, reducing the number of full-time jobs by 800,000.

"the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Douglas Elmendorf confirmed for the House Budget Committee in February that the Democrats’ health care law will destroy jobs, reducing the number of full-time jobs by 800,000."

I cannot understand how someone could read that and conclude that it will destroy jobs. What the report said is that it will shrink the workforce because people who are working for only healthcare will quit. That does not destroy the job. It only leaves a vacancy. Yikes!

Fred Krohn: Ever occur to you to face the glaringly obvious, absolutely proven, totally inarguable, self-evident reality that invective, as your hero Rush Limbaugh said, is evidence of intellectual poverty? Let's face some more reality: the only jobs the Publicans have created the last thirty years are either in Third World sweatshops or rinkydinky minimum wage gigs like flipping burgers. No matter what Shrub says, the latter is not the same as building cars.

Wayne W., I understand how a Publican could say that. It's the same kind of statistical jiggerypokery described above, that shrub pulled about flipping burgers. Remember, these people are "faith-based"; like their propaganda arm, Faux, they are "not interested in facts." Look at Fred Krohn: he doesn't really say anything, but merely foams at the mouth.

Am sick and tired of reading about "job killers." The only job killers are the republican-tbagger House. They wouldn't even bring Obama's Jobs Bill to the floor for a vote. They are intent on further destroying the economy as a way to hurt Obama. GUESS WHAT -- it ain't working!! They're NOT hurting President Obama.....They're hurting the American people, and the American people will "hurt" republican-tbaggers at the polls! DON'T FORGET TO VOTE DEMOCRAT!

Fred, you don't know what you are talking about. I work for a hospital system in Rhode Island that is the largest private employer in the state, providing nearly 12,000 jobs. In fact, two of the top five employers are health care providers (the other three being the State of RI, the Federal Government and the Roman Catholic Diocese). If it weren't for health care and government, I would lose 45,000 jobs!

I have an idea, just like we waited to read the bill before we signed it, lets count the jobs lost after they are lost. Why address concerns in advance?
