Limbaugh supposedly boast 20 millions listeners (in truth, he likely doesn't come close), and is routinely singled out by Republicans themselves as a GOP kingmaker and someone who must not be crossed. As the proprietor of Fox News, and the vanity-->

I'm looking at this situation, and I am not so sure that it is a case of mere self-destruction. Limbaugh, for instance, has been saying these sorts of things for years now. I do think that we have seen a tipping point reached, however, when these bigots are no longer preaching to the choir from within an echo chamber, and people are really paying attention now, are really very cognizant of how damaging to the US their words and actions are, and are not putting up with it anymore.

William I do agree. Once Limbaugh was nothing more but one of many windbags on the radio, now his is a destructive and intentionally cruel voice of the republican party. Want him or not they have him and have the opportunity to be rid of him should they wish. Say the right words and he will lose more of his advertisers.

What I find incomprehensible is that it has taken so long!

Last line of the article: The guardrails have been taken down, leaving the way for reckless drivers like Limbaugh, Murdoch and Beck to crash their careers.

As they say, give em' enough rope.....

Looks like their rabid dogma is getting run over by the wheel of Karma. Evil ALWAYS destroys itself. It's just a matter of time.

I am glad to hear of his potential demise. AlterNet reported that he now has 5 minutes of silence where there was once advertisements in a 30 minute segment. I hope he chokes on his stogie.

BTW I always wanted a bumper sticker that says my karma ran over my dogma. Now don't look at that the wrong way, I am also an animal rights activist so I don't wish to see any harm come to dogs at all. Just cur's like Rush.

I myself have to be careful for just a little bit longer in my personal life. I was visiting the man who holds the mortgage on my house. In the background his radio was playing the strains of Limbaugh. I don't associate with him socially. He is very active in the community with tea party groups and I think is a Paul supporter, and probably agrees with Santorum as well. I didn't realize when I selected Florida that it was so Republican.

He has been against women for sooooo many years.

We need positive voices not sneers!

This man is vile and always has been. It will be difficult to get him totally off the air. My hope is that he at least gets pushed to pay to hear radio and TV. He'll certainly lose a lot of his listeners if they have to actually pay money to hear his BS.

It's about time Limbaugh stopped aiming at his foot and finally shot himself right between the eyes! Now, if only...

Self-destruction - karma - people waking up - others scared and saying what they really mean - things are getting out of hand - but sure glad I don't listen to him.

People listen because Limpgaugh says what they would, if they had the courage to express their REAL thoughts...hateful, prejudicial, toxic thoughts. He panders to the worst possible element of our society. He's worse than slime....

FINALLY enough people have heard about these disgusting pigs that they can't hide in their tiny GOP bunkers & giggle amongst themselves! The fact Ru$h has been doing this for 20+ years shows he Actually had a very small (and small-minded) audience while using whatever sleight of hand manipulation of numbers to impress his RepubliCON masters. Now that he's being Exposed so grossly & factually, those same RepubliCON masters Must disavow him to even pretend "innocence".. Remember when he made those disgusting remarks about the black girls on a hockey team or whatever, back years ago?? Why he wasn't fired then I have no idea (well, maybe it was the bigot quota..;) But he has slimed by everything, time to pour the salt on this leach!

I couldn't agree more, now let's just hope we are finally rid of this vermin. I saw that someone had posted on Care2 that Limppole had a new advertiser - "Sugar Babies for Sugar Daddies - and Internet "dating" site. Sinking to the bottom VERY fast for that potty mouth.

This just in
Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem, two icons of the feminist establishment, are taking aim at Rush Limbaugh in a bid to end the career of America’s leading conservative talk show host.
In an op-ed written for CNN on their website, the two, joined by Robin Morgan, liken Limbaugh to Nazi propagandist Josef Goebbels because, they say, he labels all of his enemies as “sub-human.”
“Limbaugh doesn't just call people names,” they write. “He promotes language that deliberately dehumanizes his targets. Like the sophisticated propagandist Josef Goebbels, he creates rhetorical frames - and the bigger the lie the more effective - inciting listeners to view people they disagree with as sub-humans. His longtime favorite term for women, "femi-nazi," doesn't even raise eyebrows anymore, an example of how rhetoric spreads when unchallenged by coarsened cultural norms.”

What do they want? The three are calling on advertisers and listeners to bring pressure on Limbaugh’s syndicator, Clear Channel Communications, to fire him. Moreover, they’re interested in having Limbaugh banned from the airwaves by the Federal Communications Commission after branding his show, easily the most popular and lucrative talk show on radio, as hate speech.
“If Clear Channel won't clean up its airways, then surely it's time for the public to ask the FCC a basic question: Are the stations carrying Limbaugh's show in fact using their licenses "in the public interest?"
But the three conclude by saying “this isn’t political.” Rather, they say, Limbaugh is supposedly so toxic that the actual fate of American society is at state.
I just got this in an email from

Thank you Michael - that is good news. I wish I could send you a constellation of Green Stars. With Gloria Steinem back in the fight, we once again have a strong leader for women's rights and just the right things. Toxic is an understatement, expletive deleted.

The situation is progressing.

In the first link it seems Hannity, Levin, and Beck also are seeing a flight of advertisers totaling 98 who want nothing to do with "offensive controversial talk" programs.

In the second link the Attorney Gloria Allred wants to prosecute Rush.

Michael T (82)

This was in the first link.

“To all Traffic Managers: The information below applies to your Premiere Radio Networks commercial inventory. More than 350 different advertisers sponsor the programs and services provided to your station on a barter basis. Like advertisers that purchase commercials on your radio station from your sales staff, our sponsors communicate specific rotations, daypart preferences and advertising environments they prefer… They’ve specifically asked that you schedule their commercials in dayparts or programs free of content that you know are deemed to be offensive or controversial (for example, Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, Tom Leykis, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity). Those are defined as environments likely to stir negative sentiment from a very small percentage of the listening public.”

In the same article that Michael quotes there was also this:

"According to an internal Premiere memorandum obtained by, the company says 98 advertisers no longer wanted to air ad spots on any "offensive or controversial" talk programs.

Radio-Info says the list of advertisers include "carmakers (Ford, GM, Toyota), insurance companies (Allstate, Geico, Prudential, State Farm) and restaurants (McDonald’s, Subway)."

Protest by BOYCOTT!!! And... Please vote!

Michael T. Please don't call Rush a cur. It's insulting to curs everywhere.

Disease, Parasite, cockroach....those are all better descriptive terms for him than "cur"....and less insulting to curs.

Kit B (276)
Sunday March 11, 2012, 7:41 pm

Well Christopher we could make it simple and just call him a blight on humanity, but then that is a long list.

Christopher Fowler. My apologies good sir.

I have a profound admiration for curs, and shared space with two of the best of in my lifetime. It was a bad choice of words, as even such animals are far above that in their understanding of unconditional love. You have me there.

This is the awakening of 2012, the great shift, when the shit hits the fan and the game is really over for the psychopaths and the antisocially disordered who have no conscience about their words and actions, and who were using clever tricks to keep us dancing to their sick songs. We will be playing different music now, one that resonates among all of humanity who has to and who will find a way to keep this beautiful blue marble spinning in space, and sustaining life upon it.

These pieces of crap have been doing what they are doing now for many years they never got in any real troubles for it and they always have their millions of followers behind them so I don't see how and why the brainless twits that are following them are going to suddenly wake up and start to use their brains.

Hi Robert,

Kit shared this video with me. I would suggest that people like this and several pay grades higher listen to people like Rush, the answer to why requires a bit more explanation than this forum can tolerate.
