Mitt Romney attended a Boston Red Sox game with Robert K. Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots,

Senior advisers to Mitt Romney said Monday that Mr. Romney, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, was merely tossing around ideas, not making policy announcements, when his chat with donors about some significant changes to the tax code was overheard by reporters at a fund-raiser this weekend.

Campaign surrogates and officials played down Mr. Romney’s candid talk about tax changes for the wealthy, including ending mortgage interest deductions for second homes, eliminating deductions for state and local taxes, as well as closing or merging federal agencies that deal with education and housing.

Those remarks to a backyard gathering of high-dollar donors in Palm Beach, Fla., on Sunday night were overheard by reporters for NBC News and The Wall Street Journal, prompting a day of explanation by Mr. Romney’s campaign and a new opening for attack by President Obama’s campaign and the Democrats.

Advisers to Mr. Obama used Mr. Romney’s comments as evidence that he and his campaign regularly hide the truth from the public. Democrats have made clear they intend to portray Mr. Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, as willing to reveal his intentions only to well-connected donors, not to the public.

Right...... and Ol' Mitt is just one of the common folk. I'm sure he'll be looking out for the poor, the homeless and the unemployed....he probably has some swamp land for sale, too...

Thx Kit; for the article. Today it is said in these so called polls Romney and Pres. Obama are close. Go figure. The man gets caught on tape on Friday or last Saturday,(GOD SENT) and spills his guts and now he back tracks.
America; the story of US.

I also read an article on AlterNet that showed that the very man standing next to Romney in this picture, the man whose house this gathering was at, was arrested as a young man along with several cronies for beating a dog to death, then skinning it, and then gutting it and roasting it on a spit.

Well his handlers would have to come out and defend this as something other than it was. Sure it was just a discussion in which he was tossing out ideas. Yeah right. Just like the hot mike incident the GOP played upon when Obama was talking to Medvedev. They have to spin it differently because of how crass it is. Whether Romney intends to do things like this is immaterial anymore. He can't be counted upon to say anything he might really mean. He is saying anything he believes that will get others to back him. And it changes daily depending upon whom he is talking to. This whole thing continues to show itself to be one continuous joke. Unfortunately, it isn't funny.

Wow! Michael that is a horrendous story. I sure as hell wouldn't want to be in a photo with this man(Kraft), no matter what sports team he owns. There is something deeply wrong with people who can intentionally harm animals. But of course, the only issue on Romney's mind is the size of the check Kraft will write.

Yeah. Here's the link to the story. It's on Care2.

It was actually the guy who hosted his wife's birthday party. But it looks like the guy in the picture above.

Has anyone ever considered that Mitt might have multiple personality disorder? That's about the only excuse I can think of for his multiple stands on every issue. If that's the case, it's fortunate for him that the correct "personality" emerges based on what the crowd he's speaking to wants to hear. Or maybe he's just your typical politician talking out of both sides of his mouth in order to get elected. Okay. I was just being nice with my first explanation...
