Everyone does it, using language that renders women as animals;the list is endless. This culturally ingrained misogyny, as reflected in acceptable language that dehumanizes half the world's population, is not limited to any one country or religion,-->

I wouldn't call them cave men, we did begin as people that left the trees and then turned to caves. I agree it's demeaning to any animal to call them animals. Thugs is a good word, followers of a group of insecure and aggressive men seems also true.

The simple fact that RepubliCON Politicians are still using Plantation speech in public & see Nothing Wrong with it says women Must Fight back! Anyone in the Media should be shaming them into resigning, or at setting up a public stoning (and not the good kind!;)..

You see it all the time...and everywhere! A few nights ago, right here on Care2, two male posters were arguing and one referred to the other as "pussy lips." Needless to say....it was NOT a compliment!

As an insult to the other man....he referred to him as a female genital part.

And then...refused to see anything wrong with it!

They might not be cavemen, Kit, but they certainly are disrespectful men. This is the party of "family values" that holds the high "moral" ground. That has co-opted the gentlest most loving person to ever walk the planet and is trying to make us believe that were He here now he'd be driving a pickup with a gun rack picking off minorities like mail boxes before they could breed. Even their religionists appear to never have read the New Testament. Yes, they certainly disrespect women of all kinds but they have been working overhard to demonize everyone else too. Liberal used to just be a word not another name for the devil. Compromise used to mean no one got everything but each got something for the good of all. All those "values" our country became great practicing are gone. Now it is take no prisoners and if they are female, GLBT or liberal shoot them. Or put us all in that nice big concentration camp that fool minister wants built for GLBT people. It seems there is no humanity left in some of us humans. And it is especially clear in listening to those old white men talk about women. They hold the same views of many others too. We are a nation divided and I don't know how we get put back together if one side isn't willing to meet the other halfway on any issue. Personally, I think any woman called any of those things has the right to slap the face of the thug who said it and hope she isn't charged with assault or hurting his feelings for it. Someone needs to wake those bigots up and stand up to them, call them on their horrid way of speaking to and about women. I'd do it, I try, but they don't listen to me either. One might hope they'd listen to the women in their lives if we could persuade them to speak up on this too. Why would a woman live with a man who thought of her that way? I don't understand. Quite a lot I guess.

Darn, can't send you another green star, but that was surely worth it, Charles, made me laugh. On a topic that isn't funny at all. Yeah, Revelations, well l don't believe everything I read either. And whomever put that together had already discovered what dried mushrooms can do to ones mind I think. Of course, none of the gospels were written within 100 years of Christ's actual birth so weren't written by anyone who knew Him at all. And have been modified countless times by countless authors who cobbled the New Testament together as a testament to their desire to retain control over the rest of us. I've a great book called Who Wrote The New Testament by a man named Burton Mack, a professor of theology at Claremont College, most interesting. Even so, since the right wing professes that THIS is their book, one might expect them to have read the Sermon on the Mount at least and catch at least a glimmering that perhaps they aren't on what Jesus would consider the "right track" in their current political actions. Jesus knew, 2000 years ago, how to treat women better than the Republican party does today. Considerably better. I'd like nothing better than to see Him tell them today 'let he who is without sin, cast the first stone'. The response would be no different than it was then. Well, probably, some of those Republicans are deluded enough to think they ARE without sin probably. But, somewhere deep within, they must know they are lying. They must know He'd toss them out of the temple, or the body politic, as quickly today as He did then. For the same reason since they have not yet learned the lesson of sharing and that usury is immoral. Exactly right, Charles, the party of "family values" has none. Or they wouldn't be working so hard to allow only families in the 1% any part of the American Dream. I can't believe a greater generations of hypocrites has ever been on the planet at the same time - they were nasty 2000 years ago, they are nuclear now, and I don't mean close knit.

I refer to them as....creatures. Sometimes if I allow one or a mass of these genetic burps to get under my skin or push that last civil button I own in my person....I do forget myself and call them male anatomical parts or I refer to them as an animal of some sort. I immediately regret it not for their sake but for the animal I insulted. But....I try to stick to 'creatures'.
