WARSAW, POLAND—World leader and president of Poland Bronisław Komorowski was reportedly puzzled Tuesday as to why he had just met with a man who was apparently the governor of Massachusetts six years ago. "That person currently holds no position of power, so I'm not sure why I would have any sort of high-level talk with him," Komorowski was overheard saying to his advisers, adding that as a head of state with a busy schedule he shouldn’t be taking meetings with just anyone. "Essentially, I just had an hourlong conversation with an unemployed American man." According to sources, when reminded that the individual he had met also ran the Winter Olympics in 2002, Komorowski responded, "Who gives a shit?"

I'm glad you pointed out that it is satire. Even so, it is great... and true.

Miss Kitty, if you really want to know how Mittens R. became governor of a New England blue state, just email me. I watched it happen on television. However, I do not know if you would find this information humorous, shocking, or boring.

When I lived in Boston this could not have happened. Most people in Massachusetts didn't even discuss the republicans. I will ask you for more details about his rise to power in this BLUE state, I understand what happened with Scott Brown, though do hope he is soundly beaten by Elizabeth Warren.

Sometimes one just needs an 'Onion' when if you don't get to laugh, you'd have to cry

Oh, JL A there were a few I dared not submit. I would spend all of my time explaining them, they really can hit very close to home.

I realize this is just typical Onion satire, but I have wondered why Romney went to Poland. I understand why he went to England, he has a business deduction for a horse entered into the dressage, I can even understand his going to Israel. But Poland?

According to Wikipedia, "The Economy of Poland is a high income economy[9] and is the sixth largest in the EU and one of the fastest growing economies in Europe, with a yearly growth rate of over 3.0% before the late-2000s recession.[10] It is the only member country of the European Union to have avoided a decline in GDP, meaning that in 2009 Poland has created the most GDP growth in the EU.[11] As of December 2009 the Polish economy had not entered recession nor contracted. According to the Central Statistical Office of Poland, In 2010 the Polish economic growth rate was 3.9 %, which was one of the best results in Europe."

It appears that they're doing everything right in Poland. Maybe Mitt learned a thing or two about creating and maintaining a healthy and growing economy-- but that didn't keep him from refusing to speak with the Polish citizens who hoped to meet him or insulting them and the reporters who were covering the visit. If I were Mitt, I wouldn't count on the Poles with relatives in the United States to embark on a massive letter-writing campaign for the purpose of advising their American relatives to vote for Mitt!

One thing is certain: he's proven that he has the ability to fit his silver spoon AND his foot in his mouth at the same time!
