WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) was harshly critical today of President Obama’s nationally televised address about Syria this week, telling CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, “The President’s decision to think before attacking another country flies in the face of American foreign policy.”

“The United States of America has been involved in countless armed conflicts since this great nation was founded,” Mr. McCain said. “Many of those would never have happened if we’d stopped to think about them first. Sadly, the President seems not to have learned this lesson of history.”

Calling the President “an Ivy League law professor who never met a thought he didn’t like,” Mr. McCain said that he was urging Mr. Obama “to please take thinking off the table.”

“The stakes for America couldn’t be higher right now,” he said. “Our global reputation for rushing into war with no advance planning is hanging by a thread.”

Mr. McCain said that he is attempting to schedule a meeting in the Oval Office, where he plans to deliver a “strong and clear” message to Mr. Obama: “Mr. President, what you are doing is playing into the hands of the enemy. Thinking solves nothing.”

Great satire! After hearing McCain a number of times on this issue, sadly this satire is almost an accurate picture of McCain who is such a hawk and always seems to be read, in a moment's notice, to engage in war! McCain's ideology about war seems to be who wants to think when you can fight and impulsively jump to war without regard for the consequences.

Great, except it is Obama who is encouraging people not to think. He, Kerry, and Feinstein are all pushing for strikes against Syria.

The consistent message they are sending is that the United States is a heavy-handed bully who blows people and places up at will.

Ask the people of Fallujah how they feel about all the depleted uranium projectiles and cluster bombs left on and in the ground there. Do they feel protected or liberated? I don't think so. Their genetic material will be damaged for generations thanks to U.S. "involvement" on the ground there.

We who want to live in peace and harmony need to put an end to this ugliness by removing these people from a position of power, and atoning for the damage done in our names.

Thanks for my dose of AB Kit--brings to mind the articles wondering whether McCain has dementia as the contrast with thinking before knee-jerk reactions.

For a real knee-jerk reactions by McCain, see the video here for "Imagining America Under 'President McCain'.

For more details. in a video format, watch Rachel Maddow explain it all
if McCain had been elected President in "Imagining America Under 'President McCain'.
