I saw this video and was so glad to see the President take the helm on this subject. Someone has to give the young black men in our country some hope and a chance to do good and to learn and become great citizens, instead of holding them down and even killing them. We are all in this together.

Very well said. "We will help, but you have to make the effort."

Thanks, Kit

Pushing back, upwards and onwards beyond cynicism. I admire his thought process and rejoice at the role model he has become. Not many of those these days. Not a bad idea to raise up more of our positive influences and w/o squashing critical thinking, not give so much "press/media time" to the criminals. On another note, settling for a roof and food in prison should look hopeless compared to success in school and life. Gotta do something about those prison quotas...

I saw this project already on the WH website, thx for posting. Also AGREE with Nancy's comment!"

The quotas come from using privately owned prisons. If all the states would dump them it would not be a problem. Not that there would not be other problems.

Yes, this is a good idea! We all must work to keep more people out of prisons, and help all young people get on the right track. Kudos!!

He's a good leader/role model for young people of all colors and I admire this effort!

Noted, tweeted. There are some issues I'd challenge him on (frankly, I didn't expect that when I campaigned for him in 2008, but the man's as human as the rest of us) but this just yells out to me "See - this is why I voted for the man!" Hopefully, more Americans will listen...ASAP.

I voted for him the first time, but not the 2nd. President made to many promises he couldn't keep or
wouldn't keep such as bringing all the troops home.
