I would support a global ban on tabacco commercials, but what power would this give the world health organisation? How could we prevent abuse of this power? I would also support a ban on gun commercials, or violent video games commercials, or alcohol commercials, but with a little twisted science they could also try to ban advertisements for alternative therapies, or become an instrument of the pharma industry.
What is our power to hold a WHO accountable to the people?

I believe that tobacco companies abuse their power in many ways and that a global ban would be conducive to global harmony.

- humans have smoked tobacco, from the begiining, and no-one, got lung cancer, from tobacco, till they started putting benzine, and other poisons, into the tobacco. 50 or 60 years ago.
think about it, use your brain, the world health organization,UN,WHO,Codex, is banning vitamins, dec 31, 2009,
if you continue to listen to their crap, without thinking, you are screwed.

A chain decided to stop selling tobacco - the stores no longer carry it. Question - do they put cigarettes behind the counter in your state? I suspect this is all over the U.S.

Scott, there are hundreds of chemicals put into tobacco - the pack of cigarettes you buy is definitely processed! What are people supposed to do - grow their own tobacco?

There are naturally grown tobaccos available without the additives added. You may have to go specialized shops for natural tobacco products.

Scott, I attended a vegetarian dinner, and a woman smoked cigarettes from an Indian reservation. You'd never guess why she smoked those (it has something to do with the dinner) - it's because the Indians don't test their cigarettes on animals!

I think this is like our meat - more and more, the food we buy has been processed and we don't know what it is, and it's so scary maybe we're bettr off not knowing what it is.
