I didn't have the opportunity to
know Charles as well as I wished.
But, in the two years that I've been
a member of Care2, I got to know him
well enough to greatly grieve his passing.
Charles had a wonderful wit, and a delightful
sense of humor. He gave me smiles and laughs
every time we talked. He will be greatly missed
here, and he is totally irreplaceable.
To his daughter, Heaven Leigh, also a Care2 member;
I wish to extend my deepest sympathy, and to tell
you how much I loved your dad. I will always regret
that I did not get to know him well.
Charles, rest in eternal peace, my friend.
You will never be forgotten.

Rejoice, friends in the spirit of Charles, because he was a happy man who everyone would have enjoyed knowing. He has suffered lately, but he was there always to sign a petition or note an article ....pleasant & active here. We will all miss him dearly as a good activist on Care2 is a precious person to have around.

I wish his family memories of his hugs, his love, his laughter, and the fond traditions that was a part of his life...as I'm sure that's how he'd want them to feel at this moment.

I have to say that coming to Care2 the day after losing my dad and trying to think of a way to let all of his friends know what had happened was so overwhelming. I cried a lot while I wrote the message to Tim asking him to please let others know.
Tim I am so happy that you chose this way to do so... what a wonderful memorial to my father!!
He would love this so much, and I am sure he is watching and smiling at all the wonderful things that people are saying about him.
Donna and I talk so much about him... and we are carrying on his dreams and wishes for him, in his memory so we keep him close.
Personally, I can't even express how much all your words mean to me... so I will just say Thank you so much for sharing in my grief and for expressing it here so eloquently so I can know how many people will miss my dad.

Heaven I'm so sorry to know about the sad demise of your dad. He was such a caring and wonderful friend. Care2 has certainly lost a precious member who was so understanding, kind and caring. Charles may your good soul rest in peace now and forever and may you find peace and love in the place where you are now.

My condolences to Donna, Heaven and his lovely family. May you find that inner peace which passeth all human understanding. May God bless you and guide you in this hour of grief. Let not your heart be saddened as we know that Charles is happy in the bosom of the Lord.

Rest in peace, love and happiness, Charles. I never met you, but I see you had many good friends here, so you must be a decent soul. Thanks for all of the good that you did.

To Heaven Leigh... nevermind what a coward might say. Remember this, their words are powerless and meaningless. Their lives had become so pathetic, that they had to spout evil and hatred, just to feel good for a few minutes. They are cowards, remember that.

Here's to your dad and for all that his life meant, to him and to you and the rest of your family.

Charles was kind, funny, loyal, and always willing to listen. He called and left a message on my phone a few months ago. I was not as kind and loyal as he - for various reasons - none of which are good enough - I never got around to returning that call. Charles, I hope you are at rest and know the serenity and peace of whatever awaits. I hope you forgive me for not being as good a friend to you as you were to me. I miss you.

I Flagged this Troll and sent in a report but still this so called person is still here...What do we have to do to protect ourselves and our friends from these trouble makers that don't have anything better to do than to hurt others....To the trouble makers...think about this....what do you have to gain???? Do you feel proud????Do you only exist on this earth to make trouble and cause pain to others??? Well if so then you are as worthless as the pieces of shit that hurt the creatures that we are trying to protect...crawl back into the holes that you came from and leave us and the animals in peace.....

Troll flagged and the best thing to do is: to ignore the troll completely.
The troll will be very pleased when we react on IT, IT will be very disappointed when we treat IT as air, you don't see it and it cannot harm you.

It is a pity that I did not know this very beloved human being, friend and father too, but I want to express my deepest sympathies for his family and all his friends.
Remember, despite of all your pain and grief, it is a true honor to know such a beautiful person and I hope, that trough your tears you can smile about him and feel the warmth he left behind and that this will give you the strenght to remember him in the way he deserves to be remembered of.
Sending you warm hugs, and embraces with love and much strength.
Thanks for sharing Tim

For a man to give up his Bushco is really a monumental task - as this alone depicts the very nature of his caring to wards animals and the environment ...

"Destiny"

Imagine a love so strong it would last as long as the Universe exists.
Imagine a fiery hot, as hot as the sun, burning within as one touches one.
Sleeping senses come alive with energy,
A whole new world for your eyes to see.
Imagine love as in a fairy tale ending,
How enjoyable our time we both would be spending.
Could a dream such as this ever come true?
As Destiny will have it, I will always love you.

Charles C.

The Dash by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning...to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth...
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own;
the cars....the house...the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

Dear Heaven & Donna, Charles will be greatly missed. I believe he will be continuing his dream from the realm which he has passed on to, & now he has all those other beautiful spirits to help him.
May Creator bless you & guide you as you walk this path of grief. May Creator ease your pain & soothe your soul in your time of sorrow so that you truly see the rainbow which Charles left for us all. Sincerely Ze

I am so sorry that I didn't know this God sent man,by reading the lovely caring words here I can tell that he IS deeply loved.

Heaven and Donna know this,he IS now without pain he is whole once more resting peaceablely on the ever lasting arms of our Heavenly Father.
If you want to remember him, remember the good times that you had;the stories and poems and jokes that he always told;for this is how he would want you to remember him.
When you think of Charles, think of him with a smile on his face the love that he HAS for all man and animals.
When you see a deer runing free or a bird flying with the breeze you will see him,for he is always with them and caring for them.
Peace be with you Charles

My Dearest Charles,

We had some discussions about the wolves when we fist pm'd back and forth.
And you have the spirit of the wolf within you even now simply by those that hold sweet and fond memories of you.
The wolves are never a trusting kind, but this old wolf trusted you greatly...*S*
You made me laugh and made me cry with the knowledge that you shared far and wide.
The wolves of the world howl for you dear friend....for they know a good loving soul ....and a soul of a wolf you do have....even in the spirit world...the wolves will be along side you....Wolfweep's

May Charles be one with the light!
He gave so much of himself, was
a staunch supporter of children and animals
and I will miss him as will any one who had the privilege
of knowing him. My heart is with you Heaven and Donna.
With tears streaming, I bid you good bye, dear Charles!

Charles and I have been Care2 friends for some time now. We were in touch whenever the demands on his health and time permitted; in between, I would send him notes or cards assuring him that he need not expend his time to acknowledge them--I merely wanted him to know he was still my friend despite stretches of silence and much in my thoughts and prayers.

This news came as a shock to me, for I had thought....hoped...that he was improving. Despite the challenges he faced, Charles had a way of making others feel like a million dollars...that they could do anything. He did his best to infuse his life and those of others with joy...and a joyful heart is the inevitable result of a heart burning with love. That was the essence of the Charles I had come to know as a friend, and I shall miss him and his outlook greatly.

I do know that he felt his family was his greatest legacy and that he loved them and drew stength from them. I would post these words to offer what comfort others may take from them:

"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends." (author Richard Bach)

We shall meet again, Charles.

Heaven, I did not know he was your dad. He was a wonderful man, and a good friend to me. I was so happy when he met Donna. It's nice to know that he got a chance to share his life with a soul mate before he left. God bless him, you and your family. I miss him, I miss him, I miss him.

Rest in Peace my beautiful friend. I knew Charles for many years and always enjoyed my chats with him. I know that Donna was swept off her feet by Charles and they made an awesome couple. My deepest sympathies. Heaven, you may rest assured that your father was well loved by many people. May you, Donna and family be comforted by Charles' friends.

Now it is my turn.....Charles was the love of my life, literally. He taught me how a man can truly love a woman and how important each moment is in such a relationship of trust, giving and abandonment to love freely. So precious..God truly saved the best for last with our coming together. We cherished each other and he only became better wanting to share all the passion he possessed for each of his issues on Care2. He loved this site and what it stood for and ranted about the burglars on the site, trying to tear it down. My heart bleeds tears and the emptiness is bottomless. Only
God loved him more than I. Many of you I never knew but I thank each and every one of you for your love given to him. May I be worthy of such admiration as time goes on. Donna Burton Chiusano

One more note to all of you.........many of you knew that Charles had cancer last year. I can assure you that he beat his cancer....PET scans, bloodwork and biopsies proved that he no longer has such a monster in his body. But, a blocked artery coming out of his heart created a heart attack that he could not recover from. So simple to fix, when found. Keep up with your health and listen to your bodies is what he would say to you. I love all of you. Donna

God bless you Charles, you are free to fly now with gods angels without the confines of the old earth suit. My compassion goes out to his family, but I don't believe he is no more, he has simply gone on to a greater place!

Charles, my wonderful friend. Until now, I haven't even been able to leave a comment. Your passing has left me numb and in disbelief. From the moment we met on September 23, 2006, we knew we'd be friends for life. You filled an empty place inside of me that no one else could. You changed my life, you made me a better person. Because of you I experienced things that I otherwise wouldn't have. I love you and thank you for that. If only I could hear your voice on the other end of the phone just one more time, telling me that this is all a bad dream. The only consolation in all this is that you are now free of all physical pain. You have shed your useless body and now your spirit flies with the angels. Please Charles, watch over Donna, Tara and Codie, let them know you are always nearby. Thank you for the daisies Charles, I feel your presence every time I get one. You are always in my thoughts and forever in my heart. I love you so much.

Diane
