After giving the best years of her life to someone they put her in a shelter instead of them giving her the best years of her life! How can any human do this to a senior dog is mind boggling to say the least! I do hope that Penny finds her forever loving home asap. I have forwarded to my friends. Thanks for posting her story Sophia.

This is breaking my heart; Penny has to be SO confused~especially at her age.
I wish I could adopt her.
My dogs are (almost) 16 and 12; I wouldn't give them up for any reason. They are my children!
I'll share Penny's information and keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
Please post any updates!

Henriette, I posted a "Rescue Penny" comment on Facebook regarding Penny and while doing so, I learned that PAWS has come to the rescue. They are getting Penny out into a new forever home. Just in case you didn't know, I wanted to share this wonderful news! Marilyn Arnest

My heart was broken until I read the email from Henriette. I hope this is true and Penny finds a good home. How people can do this to this pets is beyond me. Goes to show how heartless people can be when this dog give them everything she had for so many years and what do they do? They throw her away as if she never mattered. This dog as all animals know love and joy and pain. A lot of people should not be allowed to have a pet.

Oh thank GOD Penny has been rescued! I tried to open the link and it was no longer active so I thought the worse. Thank God this dear old lady is now on her way to a better home. These stories about older dogs being dumped just make me SO sad. We have an old dog with us now....diabetic and blind...and I cannot imagine how he would feel if he were suddenly dumped into a shelter. Awful.

So glad to hear that PAWS rescued Penny! She so deserves a loving home. It must have been very difficult for her especially at her age to all of a sudden find herself in a shelter without her loving family! Thank you Henriette for the update and thank you Sophia for posting this story!
