German shepherds are well-known for their intuitive nature and the dog in this photo seems to know that this Los Angeles County, Calif., animal control facility is not a safe place to be.

This gorgeous girl is in need of some help if she is to leave the facility alive. She is listed as a three-year-old dog, but there is no name, only her number, A4549512.

Tweeted, fbooked, stumbleupon, sent. I called them to told them their housing for these animals look filthy. They would never allow a human child in such a room where the paint is coming off the walls as it is in that picture. They couldn't even respond with an answer!! place looks filthy!! Lets get this dog a home. Gawd I wish I could get her we aren't all that far from Cali, but to far for just a hop drive. =(

That is such a sad and awful image. Aside from this place resembling a dump this poor dog has most likely come from a terrible and abusive situation. Very difficult to look at but she's a beautiful young girl and hopefully she will catch the eye of a loving person to adopt her.

Her body language speaks volume & she is totally unsure of what has happened, or why she is in this place! She needs someone who will be understanding of her insecurity to overcome this situation. I forward to my friends. Thanks Sophia for posting her story! May God grant her a loving owner & home asap.

German shepherds are well-known for their intuitive nature and the dog in this photo seems to know that this Los Angeles County, Calif., animal control facility is not a safe place to be.

She is listed as a three-year-old dog, but there is no name, only her number, A4549512.

Unfortunately, there is no other information...nothing to tempt a would-be adopter or rescue to want this beautiful dog.

Nothing to indicate if she adores chasing after a tennis ball or prefers to fly after a Frisbee.

All that is truly known is that she is scared, confused and in need of assistance.

Information:

•Intake date 3/4/13
•Age 3 years
•Breed German shepherd
•ID# A4549512
•Shelter: 4275 N. Elton
Baldwin Park, CA 91706

Just one look at this poor doggie, and we know from her body language that she is very insecure and scared.
It is very clear that these officers at the animal control facility did tortured the dog in some unimaginable ways!

That poor thing. I was raised by a shepherd from age 8 to 26, he was the pup for a year but then he took over the adult stuff. They are great animals, great with kids, so loving, so brave. Something terrible has happened to this beautiful girl, or she is a cross because they are not so timid, cross breeds that look like shepherds can be timid, but also dangerous as they'll bite out of fear, they need special loving handling and they'll be fine, but should not be around little ones who they don't know. She is just so heart breakingly sad, I hope someone loves her, soon.

On Wednesday, Coastal German Shepherd Rescue pulled the terrified German shepherd from the Baldwin Park Animal Care and Control facility in California.

The dog, now known as "Amari," was clearly scared and confused at the facility, but today, she is safe and being cared for.

Her rescuers have discovered that Amari suffers from a debilitating, painful condition known as Perianal Fistulas.

Unfortunately, German shepherds are known to be prone to this condition.

Coastal German Shepherd Rescue is committed to getting Amari the veterinary help that she needs to help her recover from this disease. Anyone interested in contributing towards Amari's care can click here to make a donation to the rescue organization.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to network on Amari's behalf.
