Plato, Descartes, Newton, Nietzsche, Hawkin... the greatest minds to ever live could talk for 1000 years and not say as much about humanity as this 1 min video.

Is there a better example of unconditional love and compassion?

Noted and thank you Steve for sharing this story.

It doesn't surprise me in the least, as I know Dogs are so courageous, loving and loyal, they'd give their life (and have) if necessary to save another, be they human or animal!

I'm so glad to hear the injured Dog survived. The first time I saw this video a few months ago this wasn't mentioned.

I saw this aired on TV and it brought tears to my eyes. It has been shown over and over that animals have feelings and understanding be it a dog, cat, elephant, monkey, dolphin, we are not the only species on this earth with feelings.

One of the most amazing and heroic videos I have seen. And the best thing is the dog lived. Truely a miracle. Thanks for sharing this heartfelt video Steve. If only people could be like this little hero. You have made my day.

Beautiful...Enlightening...Heartwarming.

Someone told a lie when they said man is the most intelligent creature...

Thank you so much, Steve.

there can be no greater love than the act of being prepared to lay down one's own life to save an other's life...
...and Marion man is way down the order of things...we neither head up the food chain (a lot of things would see us as food)
nor the intellect chain...evidence of memory and intellect in dolphins, elephants and it seems even dogs.
And then we come to the compassion chain and again man fails time and again...no one say Gaza Darfur Iraq and so on.
When did we see one group of animals try to wipe out another...So no Marion we have so much to learn from our animal trainers and professors.

Wow, that is pretty cool! I think the dog did die even though the video said it lived. Thanks and noted.

I have ALWAYS known that animals have feelings and this story just proves it to me. How much we can and do learn from our animals friends. We should just PAY MORE ATTENTION!

Thank you for sharing this with us!

Ingrid ;-)

THey say animals communicate with some special powers and sounds that are beyond our ears. I once saw a cow fall in a fountain in chilly winter in the heart of a high end shopping square. It tried its best to come out but couldnt. Out of nowhere did emerge another that came running and lended its head to the first one and pulled it out.
NOte: the first one had not made a single "Moo" sound.

I would like to be inspired, but if you watch closely the video is edited hard core, the dog gets hit by a diferent car in each clip, and its not even the same dog being drug off the road, I don't know about this one.....

Thank you Steve for sharing this.It was heartbreaking to see the dog get hit.The fact that the other dog was willing to risk his life to drag the injured one to safety just shows that animals have a heart of compassion.
I'm glad the injured dog lived. Humans should be as compassionate and caring.
