So remind me again what the surge is meant to be about. The situation lurches from bad to worse guided by a president that has lost all credibility with his country.(or any other country at that) has lost his way in a war that he should have never entered and still people (innocent people) are dying in rather large numbers and they will blame us (the US and Britain). GB will have some explaining to do eventually.

Stepping up the offensive sure does work. We should have at least 4000 service men killed in action by next month the way its going. And I know theres a record at least, for Iraqi civilians. Gee thanks alot Congress are you sure september 15th is enough time for an evaluation? A special thanks for the flip flops.

It`s what our Governments Do ! Divide, exploit their differences and turn brother against brother. It is easier to control small groups, than the mass population.

Noted! Beware of the 23% who still approve of the job GWB is doing. They are clearly certifiable and belong in an institution where they can do no harm. Of course this is a civil war and it has been for sometime. The only people who don't admit that are in this administration and the 23% that have loose screws.

David Gould, .......... Duhhhh ! who else is to blame ? only your leaders, plus the other terrorist state that you failed to mention, Israel.

GB has some explaining to do, yes, but i believe that they got involved due to pressure of some sort. The worst terrorists are the USA , followed by Israel. Remove them from office, arrest them, jail them for life and the world will be at peace.

If you really want to know what is going on then please have a good look at these vids and help us fight these swines. And when you are done watching those then watch the next URL i have included. This is how far we got already without the help of the 23% dimwit element and the head-in-the-sand bunch.

Subject: Brasscheck TV: The US' real enemy in the Middle East

The Los Angeles Times reported it...And it had all the impact of a pebble thrown in the ocean.

Who is the US's biggest real enemy in the Middle East in terms of actual violence and real attacks?

Is it Iran? Syria? That's what the Bush lie machine would have you believe.

Here's the real deal... From the LA Times report:

"Although Bush administration officials have frequently lashed out at Syria and Iran, accusing it of helping insurgents and militias here, the largest number of foreign fighters and suicide bombers in Iraq come from a
third neighbor, SAUDI ARABIA, according to a senior U.S. military officer and Iraqi lawmakers.

About 45% of all foreign militants targeting U.S. troops and Iraqi civilians and security forces are from Saudi Arabia..."Saudi Arabia, the country that gave us 9/11 and Osama bin Laden.

What's going on in this despotic country which occupies such a warm place in the heart of the Bush crime family (father and son)?

In depth history and analysis you will NEVER see on US TV:

Some insurgent sect targetted a minority Kurdish religious sect, just TO SHOW AMERICA THAT THE "SURGE" IS NOT WORKING. In other words, all they wanted was to KILL AND MAIM HUNDREDS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE, TO MAKE A POLITICAL POINT. They didn't CARE, as long as the targets were a small religious minority {that as far as I know, has not taken much part in the sectarian violence so far}. In other words, IF THE U.S. TROOPS HAD LEFT IRAQ LAST WEEK, ALL THOSE PEOPLE HURT WOULD STILL BE ALIVE AND WELL.

The "surge" is NONSENSE, as when the troops move into one area, the insurgent sects simply move to another area -- IRAQ IS ABOUT THE SIZE OF CALIFORNIA, IN SQUARE MILES. The insurgent sects move into AREAS THAT HAVE BEEN PEACEFUL SO FAR, as in this instance. As I said, IF THE AMERICAN TROOPS WERE NOT IN IRAQ, THIS VIOLENCE WOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN PLACE.

Other violent acts, including mosque bombings and "suicide bombings", HAVE BEEN PERPETRATED BY THE CIA AND BRITISH M16. Some violent acts are perpetrated by the IRAQI POLICE, OR THE IRAQI ARMY, THEMSELVES. Other violent acts are perpetrated BY INSURGENTS WHO HAVE {very easily!} STOLEN IRAQI POLICE OR ARMY UNIFORMS. It is IMPOSSIBLE, as the article states, to determine WHICH IS WHICH: imposters, or "real" Army or Police. Men in both the Iraqi Army, and the Iraqi Police, have TURNED AGAINST THE AMERICANS WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE "TRAINING" THEM, AND KILLED THEM. This is why USUALLY the Americans DO NOT GIVE OUT LIVE AMMUNITION TO THE SOLDIERS THEY ARE "TRAINING". THEY HAVE NO REASON TO TRUST THEM. However, live ammunition must be the easiest thing in the world to acquire in Iraq, these days.

Not only are different religious sects murdering each other {there are more than just 2, Sunnis and Shiites}; but IRAQI CHRISTIANS ARE BEING TARGETTED {yes, there ARE native Iraqi Christians who have been there for centuries}; and tribes, clans, families and individuals are SETTLING OLD, OLD GRUDGES AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE TURMOIL TO TAKE PRIVATE REVENGE WITH IMPUNITY. Then, of course, as ALWAYS, acts of revenge lead to MORE acts of revenge in retaliation, and on and on it goes with no end. THIS IS A CULTURE IN WHICH TAKING REVENGE IS A VALUE AND OFTEN AN OBLIGATION. The Americans don't realize, that every time American troops kill a civilian "by accident", THE SURVIVING MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY ARE OBLIGATED BY THE CULTURE TO TAKE REVENGE ON THE ENEMY. If we had a SINGLE friend in Iraq the first days of the invasion, THERE IS NOT A SINGLE PERSON WHO TRUSTS THE U.S., OR WHOM WE CAN TRUST, NOW. The Iraqi politicians are just "playing along", buying time. THERE IS NO PLACE SAFE; NOT EVEN THE HEAVILY-GUARDED GREEN ZONE.

In other words, this is MUCH MORE CHAOTIC THAN IF IT WERE A SIMPLE MATTER OF ONE SECT VERSUS ANOTHER SECT. The U.S. in its TOTAL IGNORANCE of the situation, has HELPED AND FINANCED FIRST ONE SECT, THEN ANOTHER. FIRST ONE TRIBAL LEADER, THEN ANOTHER, HIS MOST BITTERLY-HATED RIVAL. In TOTAL IGNORANCE. That hasn't helped the CHAOS one bit.

It also hasn't helped that ONE-THIRD OF THE WEAPONS THE U.S. {and U.S. TAXPAYERS -- US!} have supplied to Iraq, HAVE ENDED UP IN THE HANDS OF THE INSURGENCY AND HAVE FOR A CERTAIN FACT BEEN USED AGAINST AMERICAN AND ALLIED TROOPS. In other words, WE TAXPAYERS ARE SUPPLYING THE INSURGENCY THE GUNS WITH WHICH THEY SHOOT AT, AND SOMETIMES KILL, OUR FAMILY MEMBERS IN IRAQ. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to stop this from happening. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to "guard" the weapons and KEEP them away from the insurgency. Iraq is THE HOMELAND OF THE IRAQIS; and there is NO place in it that we can keep "secure".
When Congress voted to fund the war, THEY VOTED TO PAY FOR THE WEAPONS THAT ARE KILLING AMERICAN TROOPS. The people who are CLEANING UP, of course, are the ARMS DEALERS -- DICK CHENEY AMONG THE FIRST OF THEM. Arms dealers don't care WHERE those guns end up, or HOW they are used -- they just SELL 'em for GIGANTIC PROFITS.
THE MOMENT AMERICAN TROOPS LEAVE IRAQ, LIVES WILL BE SPARED -- not just ours, but innocent IRAQI lives. Iraq is THE CRADLE OF CIVILIZATION. They can just sort it all out themselves. They managed somehow for about 5000 years.

TELL THE TROOPS THE TRUTH. American troops can HANDLE the truth. We OWE it to them, to TELL them. Who else will do it? The American troops will DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES what to do about their situation; DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES how soon they want to come home from Iraq!!!
We must move, from mere protest, to ACTIVE RESISTANCE. The TROOPS need to know that there is a Resistance movement in the U.S. that will support THEIR Resistance.

""Al Qaeda in Iraq is predominantly Sunni Maj. Gen. Benjamin Mixon said." This is a quote from a CNN article http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/08/15/iraq.main/index.html

MY QUESTION IS IF SAUDI ARABIA IS THE SUNNI CAPITAL OF THE WORLD WHY IS THE US IN IRAQ? WHEN CLEARLY AL QAEDA IS FROM SAUDI ARABIA AND WHAT ARE THE SAUDI'S DOING TO FIGHT TERRORISM?

DOESN'T THE OFFICIAL 911 STORY SAY MOST THE HIJACKERS WERE SAUDI'S ?

Osama bin Laden and his entire family are GOOD FRIENDS of the Bush family -- this is ON RECORD.
The Bin Laden family members in the days right after 9/11 were GIVEN IMMEDIATE AIR PASSAGE OUT OF THE U.S., at a time when NO OTHER COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT WERE ALLOWED IN THE AIR.
Not what you would USUALLY do with the IMMEDIATE FAMILY OF THE "PRIME SUSPECT". The family members were not questioned by ANYONE about what they knew about bin Laden, his possible whereabouts, etc. This smells, huh?

OF COURSE THEY WERE NEVER QUESTIONED!
WHO IS THE REAL INSIDE TRAITOR RESPONSIBLE FOR 9/11?

ALL THE EVIDENCE POINTS TO, GEORGE W. BUSH HIMSELF.
His BROTHER, for example, WAS IN CHARGE OF THE SECURITY OF THE TWIN TOWERS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE 9/11. DICK CHENEY WAS IN CHARGE OF NORAD, WHICH "STOOD DOWN" THAT DAY, for the ONLY time in its ENTIRE HISTORY.

Whotta CO-INCIDENCE! Whotta SET OF CO-INCIDENCES.

It is not just the SUNNIS that are responsible for violence. Saudi Arabia is the center of a Fundamentalist Islamic sect, of the type that gives ALL of Islam a bad name -- the Wa'abi sect.
THE SAUDIS FUND THE MADRASSAS, or Fundamentalist schools, of this MINORITY SECT OF ISLAM, all over the world.
Most of Islam is indeed a religion of PEACE; and most Sunnis are peaceful too.

IT IS THE WA'ABIS that want to TURN BACK THE CLOCK and oppress women, for example, and have THEIR brand of Islam be recognized as the ONLY one. They are as bad and as fanatical as the Fundamentalist Christians that certainly don't represent ALL Christians; and that have hijacked the Bush mis-Administration.

The Bushies know PERFECTLY WELL that they are SUPPORTING A REGIME IN SAUDI ARABIA THAT SUPPORTS TERRORISTS ALL OVER THE WORLD.
All they do is LIE, LIE, LIE to the American people.
Ha, ha, ha, they say. It's all about the OIL, STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The OIL, Stupid! The OIL, Stupid! The OIL, Stupid, The OIL............
I guess 23% of the American people think that's just FINE with them............

The US government -- supposedly acting on our behalf, and supposedly acting to Make us Safer -- has made terrorism the Number One Growth Industry in the middle east and around the world.

As long as our troops are in Iraq it is the radical (choose one or more) - jihadists/Islamists/terrorists/insurgents/evil-doers/zionists/anti-zionists/Iranians/Syrians/Sunnis/Saudis/Shia/Turks/Kurds/Nomads/CIA - elements who are the winners.

It's as if we opened a terrorist Disneyland and we have graciously volunteered our own sons and daughters, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, co-workers, assorted relatives and friends to be the real flesh and blood targets so that the enemy can hone their hatred and techniques for murder and chaos on real live Americans while enjoying recruitment such as has never been seen before.

We have been lied to and it is time for all of us -- Most importantly those who are serving their country -- to stand up and say "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to fight your stinking war for your stinking oil companies anymore!"
Ok -- done ranting. For now. : )

Here's a link to an article i posted (actually just web page) with info on getting to the Sept. 15 rally in Washington DC -- info also pasted as a comment -- Got To Wake Congress UP!!!

The Bush Administration is totally out of touch whith what is going on Iraq. I mean the real deal, and not what his generals on the ground want him to know to keep him happy, thinking progress is being made, when in fact it isn't.

Iraqis are commiting Genocide, and the Bush Administration claims there is no civil war going on in Iraq. The WH needs to grow a brian real fast and start looking for the truth not just what they want to hear.

It's a nightmare in Iraq, and Bush caused it all.

In 1994 Cheney did an interview and said this: "it's not wise to attack Iraq and take down Saddam Husseins government because we will have no government to replace Saddam." He sure changed his mind when he became VP didn't he. Suddenly all of his new power jumped right on his back and talked ding ding into attacking Iraq. No one will ever convince me that Cheney and Bush were not involved with 9/11.

The insurgents are not stupid. Every time we aggress they will take innocent lives to show us that it will come with an extreme cost, both of Iraqi and American lives. At the same time it will make the BUSH ADMINISTRATION look like fools. They are!!! More and more and more cost of innocent life. We've been here before. What did it get us? A bigger memorial wall......thats what!!!

Has anyone considered that it might have been another "false flag" event to make everyone believe we need to keep our troops there. Northern Iraq has been free from terrorist attacks until now. Could this have a plan by the White House to make it look like the "terrorist" are becoming a bigger threat and therefore we need to have a draft to put more troops in Iraq?

Oh my goodness John Jones, you have hit the nail right on the head. There is nothing to consider here, i was expecting that to happen. When all this "withdraw" crap began it hit me, they will not alow a withdrawal and thus can expect a "think again" situation to come up. I hardly expected such a strong statement, but then again when you consider the 9/11 missile attack, then this is their way of doing things even though it can not be proved to be their work. Besides that, this kind of brutallity has very little impact on the final outcome of events, as their previous crimes overshadow this one by far. The worst damage caused here is on the 26% dimwit element.

Again, we can not afford to doubt the origions of this cowardly attack bcause if you care to look around on the site i have posted earlier, you will find that the bushco bunch also have "out of uniform" death squads driving around killing people just for the hell of it. There is proof of that.

To BMutiny, i must say that i am pleased to find another who has done their homework and is knowledgeable
on this situation to the extent that it saves me a lot of unnecessary typing. Thank you.

Steven R Hanon. Where have you been ? The WH IIS, and once again IS, fully in control. The generals want out, but the WH dont want that, they want more confrontation. The real nightmare about the civil war and the genocide is that it is also promoted by the bushco bunch in disguise. Read the previous post.

About bush and cheyney [they do not deserve capital letters, only capital punishment], Was there ever any doubt on their involvement. Cheyney was obviously made an offer he could not refuse.

The BBC News at 10/BBC Newsnight covered this atrocity in some detail, complete with animated reconstruction of the area where the trucks were placed. Noteworthy was the report that Al Qaeda were immediately blamed, and not the usual 'insurgents'. What proof of this claim could a military commander, safe in his green zone, have? John Jones, above, could well be correct in view of what we now know about 9/11, as BMT has reminded us.

One thing I would add to BMT's statement of the circumstances surrounding 9/11, not only was NORAD stood down, but also on that day, air defence exercises were being conducted many hundreds of miles away from Washington and New York, and this was used as an excuse for the missing intercept jets when the alleged passenger flights were known to be heading for their respective targets.

Since most people would not know anything about the minority religious sect, who took the brunt of this massacre, the BBC gave us some idea of their background. Among other things, these people are regarded by most Muslims as 'infidels'. Sad to say, the BBC included part of a video, which showed a young woman being publically stoned to death by her family because she had fallen in love with a Muslim man, and wished to marry him. Once again we are reminded of the terrible part played by religion and ignorance in the disregard for human rights, and the subjection of women to the will of their 'masters'. There is still a lot of work to be done in this area.

The Kurds suffer a bit because they assisted the US, even though they KNEW their cause (Kurdistan would not be supported by anyone of the large countries.
This is a civil war. Do you remember Somalia and the ridiculous death there in early 90s?
Do you remember the civil war we took sides in in Viet Nam?
US militarism is a severe problem, and perhaps this nation should somehow lose some of its power, which is consistently misused since at least the time of Indian suppression in the early to late 1800s.

Has it occured to anyone that these more powerful bombs are being made from the 380 tons of extremely high explosives that wound up missing after we broke the U.N. seal and left them open and unguarded. Iran is not supplying explosives, we provided those used to trigger Nuclear Weapons by leaving them open and unguarded. This is George's F***ing mess and we're all part of it!

Dianne G. .. You have me somewhat confused here. There is so much you can do, or rather WE as you put it.The USA never went in to help, they went in to murder inocent people and to destroy whatever they could. For their government to step in, the terrorist invaders must step out. Change will come when the people of America get rid of the criminals in the WH and jail them. You dont seem to reallise that the reason for this is because the US wanted this to happen........jeeez, Wake up !

Than you Scott, i doubt if the explosives was kept by some bugger in his backyard shed. It just has to be part of the big plan by America.
