Bush has been fighting the ban on Methal Bromide for years, and he's not about to give up now. He won't be happy until he kills all of us. Preferably Deomocrats. I never knew a man who hated Democracy as much as the BushCo Administration. He will never be able to make Iraq a free and Democratic state, mainly because Iraq doen't understand what Democracy is. $720 million a day for the war in Iraq, and he refuses to sign the bill to extend health care to our over 6 million children. The present plan expieres in 7days.

Greedy -- that is an adjective to discribe Bu$hCo 00 as long as the corporations continue making decisions for the rest of us profits will always prevail...
Who are they going to sell to if we all die?
I try very hard to buy local to support the community as well as knowing what chemicals are used (or not used). As long as The corporations have a market for their producce nothing will change...

Yes Cate and Stephen, he will leave the worst black mark in history of any so-called "leader" in human history, including Hitler, Stalin, and Alexander the Great. We have never seen anything like the likes of these guys. How fitting that he came up with the expression "Evil Doers".

What has Bush got that allows him to continue in this perverse manner?!!! I am beginning to think Hitler was a baby in comparison. Mary I also try to avoid chemicals as much as possible and also support locally grown chemical free products. To read that this so called most powerful man in the world cannot understand the need to cease using chemical ASAP only adds to the equation of horror which he appears to support with his every breath.

Ohhhhhh, Al Gore, where are you
when we need you?!
I often think of what the last
almost seven years would have been
like if the 2000 election hadn't
been stolen.
We'd be living in a paradise,
by comparison. BushCo is doing
so much damage to this country and
this planet, the Earth itself may not
recover from him.
I know we can all recall when
Richard Nixon was the most hated
President in hostory?
George W. Bush makes Nixon look
like Mother Teresa.

Thanks, Cate.

There is something really, intrinsically wrong with that boy, and there is something even wronger with our congress for not having him in a straight jacket and carted outta there before now.

I think its all the lead in the air circling Washington DC by way of the Beltway around it....it's poisoned their brains and they've all gone insane....we have to march in there and remove them all! Quick, before they kill us all!

Bush is ANTI-American--every decision this administration makes is ANTI-American-how did we get someone in office who is so indifferent to the suffering or illness of the people of this country. This is wrong. Noted.

Incredibly disgusting! Remember how long it took to ban DDT? Looks like another long haul! Except, this time, if we take too long to mobilize, we might not be around to say "I told you so," I wonder if we could convince King George and his entire coterie of handlers to go sunbathing in Antarctica this coming spring...

Noted with fury! Thanks, Cate!

"For the chemical producers and agribusiness this is a windfall. The Gottwald family, the owners of Albemarle, one of the largest manufacturers of methyl bromide, donated $345,000 to Bush and the Republican Party between 2000 and 2002. And agribusiness gave $2.7 million to the Bush campaign in 2000."
http://ventana.sierraclub.org/conservation/regional/methyl_bromide.shtml

Also see this article at Organic Consumers Assoc. and consider utilizing the site to take action on various campaigns! http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_7218.cfm

About 70% of methyl bromide produced in the United States goes into pesticidal formulations. Nonpesticidal uses include degreasing wool and EXTRACTING OILS FROM NUTS, SEEDS and flowers. Methyl bromide is also a methylating agent in the chemical industry. In the past, it was used as a refrigerant and as a fire-extinguishing agent in aircraft. The chemical name for this fumigant is bromomethane.

Methyl bromide is a dangerous cumulative poison. - (meaning it accumulates over time, which, I believe would make it a bio-accumulative toxin)

Chronic low level exposure causes depression of the central nervous system, injury to the kidneys, and may cause respiratory problems, and irritate the skin and eyes. Methyl bromide and its constituents appear to concentrate in the central nervous system (Central nervous system dis-eases include: alzheimers, dementia, epilepsy, Parkinsons, Huntingtons, Tourette Syndrome, Migraine disorders, etc. etc. And of course, the CNS in turn affects the peripheral nervous system, which in turn affects the Autonomic nervous system- which includes the endocrine system. Do a web search on the endocrine system, endocrine disruptors and bio-accumulative toxins. And the medical establishment is puzzled by the obesity "epidemic", by the prevalence of diabetes, fibromyalgia, etc....so much for expensive educations!)

The amount of bromide ion, the metabolite of methyl bromide, in residues, is proportional to the protein content of the crop. Higher levels of the bromide ion will most likely be found in high-protein plants. (So, between consuming this substance in our foods - including nuts & seeds - and having it elsewhere in our enviroment, we're screwed!)

Cynthia, GREAT post!
I'm convinced that one of the
things the government is doing
to us is finding ways of making
us sick. Slowly, gradually, over
time, getting us all sick and weak
with some or another disease.....
anyone here besides me familiar
with "chemtrails"?
Before long, they'll be going
around collecting up everyone's
guns, and then we'll be a dis-armed,
sick and weak populace, physically
unable to resist when they enslave
us further.

BTW:
When they come around for
my guns, I'm going to give
them the ammunition FIRST.

Great update info. Cynthia , thx. Your right tim , the gov't is intentionally making us sick and weak on purpose. Malnutrition = sickness=dollars=population control. Gm foods, pesticides, additives, inadequete healthcare, etc. mixed with a little TV, fear, crumby education creates the perfect "consumer for the powers that be. A viscious cycle to say the least.... But one that CAN be broken by people like us who spread the info. and the word.
Great article and comments, your a card, thx Cate.

Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense regardless of how it turns out.

No Tim I don't think we would be living in paradise if Gore were President and I will tell you why .
Because we still have Congressmen and the Senators who have been there for many years and will be there for many years to come unless we vote to put term limits on them .These people will still vote down any good law for our environment and anything else that comes up for a vote that is for the betterment of all the people in this country.

Bush and his administration will go down in history as the most corrupt, greedy and evil administration we have ever had in the history of the United States.

Pastor Tim Redfern (515)
Tuesday September 25, 2007, 9:10 am
Well, okay, Linda.
Point taken, and I have to agree,
on BOTH items....
Yes, the Bush years will go down
in our history as one of the blackest
periods.....that is, in what little
history we've got left.
I'm sure most everybody who has posted
here is old enough to remember when
Richard Nixon was the most hated
President in U.S. history?
George W. Bush makes Nixon look
like Mother Teresa.

And another distinction, we are among a very small minority of the countries of the world that refuses to renounce the use of landmines. Staythecourse!

Carolyn T. (233)
Tuesday September 25, 2007, 3:34 pm
Dolores and Cynthia, you nailed the primary reason GWB keeps wanting to use this deadly chemical. Timothy, I am with you in disgust on the use of landmines that keep killing and/or maiming for years. Notice the strong pattern of votes for cloture in the Senate: it's like 56 Republicans, a few Democrats and one or two independents who are blocking the way of positive change. Probability is laughingly unlikely that these numbers randomly come up again and again--the point being, check how your Congressional representatives are voting because they are not voting your voice. Turn them out at the first opportunity. Real change has to happen there because these people have dirty hands, too, and higher-ups and contributors to campaigns have them in their pockets.

Another example of our government poisoning us. There is no money in your good health. We deserve better. Cheney/Bush regime should be impeached. See Dennis4President.com to Impeach Cheney first. We used to be a world beacon, now we are a world destroyer. Stop the chemical poisoning of our only life-giving globe.
