The Secret History of the Coming War With Iran

World  (tags: Iran, war with Iran, government plans )

Long, well-researched article in Esquire Magazine Online. The authors have been privy to those in power - Hillary Mann conducted secret negotiations with Iran. Flynt Leverett traveled with Colin Powell and advised Condoleezza Rice. Don't miss this story!

Once again, thanks to James for this link...he's an intrepid news sleuth.

This article shows how devious our and other governments really are. The crazed megalomaniacs in power would rather annihilate the earth in their quest for power and control than further the causes of peace, non-agression and the welfare of people worldwide.

Sadly Cate I have thought that for a long little they really do care..except for the love of power..greed..

I don't know what it is but Bush seems to have a deep seated hatred towards the Muslim world. Bush has been wanting to attack Iran for a long time now, and if the hardliners get their way they will attack, which will be the biggest mistake Bush ever makes. We cannot fight a war with the entire Muslim population. There are millions in the US alone, and the rest around the world will join together to fight the big Satan, Ie, the Bush Administrtation.

I agree with you Bill.
Sad note when you read the article and tell yourself....'did you expect anything different to be said about the current administrations idealogy"

The man is insane. Drunk with power. A sick child playing with millions of lives in a game of fantasy. He needs to be impeached on grounds of being unstable of mind, He is harming his country and the world, has costs thousands of lives and will cost millons or billions if he is allowed to continue.

Maybe it's the UN we should be making our plea to.

This article was not a surprise. It hasn't been too hard to figure out that BushCo wants a world war III with the entire Muslim population, Bush even said the words the other day... "WWIII". It's been pretty obvious they've been trying to come up with an excuse ...nuclear bombs? WMD's? Maybe they'll try to blame Iran for 9-11? Not very clever, but none-the-less, it won't matter once the media is told to run with one of these...

Rest assured, this is one of Bush's goal before leaving office! And what worries me the most is that maybe they'll have to resort to another attack to meet this goal if they are unable to convince us otherwise...

Hey Bill, these are also the same people with the same mindset that supported Hitler too and it doesn't go so far back in ancestory. (Bush's grandfather, Preston Bush, was a Nazi).

There is a place on U-Tube where you can ask the candidates any question....mine would be what would they have done with this? It might be interesting to get different answers.

I want to know who they picture as their vice presidents, and who they would have as their diplomats?

Stephen ... Bu$h's need to dominate Iran does go back a long, long way ... to when the CIA removed Moaadeq from power and put Reza Hahlawi on the Peacock throne; now his son is waiting "in the wings" with Henry Ki$$inger by his side, ready to assume power and control the oil, allow Bu$h to build a pipeline thru Iraq and IRan to Afghanistan, China, Russia ...

It's always been about THE OIL!

Daniel Barker (35)

Let's end this madness! I voted regime change on Nov. 7, and the 'First 100 hours' came and went.

We must stop buying oil! Buy an electic car. Eat vegetarian.

And support candidates who will end the war. I do not care what party they are, only that they will end the madness.

I told my family when Bush ran for office the first time, that it would be the biggest mistake ever made look how he hurt Texas while he was Governor. When he won the election and started with Iran that he would take us to War. Then after 9/11 I said if he wasn't run out of office he will go out by putting US in the worse position with the war and hurt everyone in the USA because he will have nothing to worry about he will have a steady income no matter what So be prepared we are going down

Bill you are so right about that .Mudcat C. you are also right about Bush's grandfather being a Nazi.
Blue Bunting it is all about power and oil .Daniel Barker I can't see how becoming a vegetarian will help stop this war and people can't just stop using oil they need an alternative resource .I live on the east coast can you imagine what would happen to us in the winter time if we didn't use oil or gas .Those of us who don't own our own home and couldn't use another source of heat would freeze to death .
We need alternative fuel sources then we can move away from oil.But Bush doesn't want us to move towards clean fuel sources he loves the oil and coal companies ,,they make him a bundle of money.
Tsandi you have a good idea ,,maybe the UN should be involved in our problems with this president and vice president .Maybe we can request the UN get invoved because we have a government gone mad that doesn't listen to its people and doesn't uphold its country's constitution.

This really is a LONG article,
but everyone should take time
to read it infull, because
there is ALOT of fascinating
stuff there; deep, behind-the-
scenes things that answer many
questions, and gives an ugly look
at how the corporate-mind of Bushco
Here we are now, and Bush/Cheney
are about to begin yet another war
against another country, but, this
time, THIS country (Iran) had offered
unconditional peace and cooperation
YEARS ago, and the offer was flatly
denied by the White House.
The master game-plan from years ago,
from the founding of PNAC has been
perpetual war, war without end, and
it certainly appears that's what we've

Thank you, Cate.

The insane cretin and his Puppetmasters have to go! If we don't find a way to eliminzate them, we will be in a war we cannot win, because our armed forces have been wasted in an illegal and illegitimate war! Our country is more vulnerable to attack right now than at any time in our history. Never before have we had to use National Guard units as line troops in a foreign country. And why> Because our all-volunteer forces were already decimated.

This whole world seems to have gone insane!

I really do believe that is tightly connected to the multinational, so called oil agreement, with IRaq! The troops will never leave Iraq because of it. You say you haven't heard about it. You were never supposed to hear about it.
The cleric and militant Al Sadr is back in Iraq because of it. 2/3 of Iraq oil goes to all alies and Iraq keeps 1/3.
It is quite likely that Iran will back Al Sadr and threaten locations in the Middle East Area-that are allies with the US-Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Kuwait.
Iran says it can launch 11,000 rockets in a minute.
I sure hope Care2 doesn't remove this comment again.

Noted.....BushCo is making a fortune through Big Oil, Military Industrial Complex, and other contractors. His war on terror is exactly the same as their war on drugs....a neverending drain on American resources for the enrichment of a few megalomaniacs. I fear that Bush will illegally invade Iran and declare a national emergency, installing himself a dictator and suspending the Constitution and halting the elections. My only hope is that the people of America as well as the majority of military personell will rise up and shout BULLSHIT!!!!! Like the bumper sticker om Tim's page says "Support or troops, we need them to overthrow our government!" Where can I get a real sticker like that Tim?

Really, all I did was Google "anti-bush graphics"
which is where most all of those bumperstickers
came from. Another great source is:

I am embarrassed to say I receive (it came as a free subscription with another magazine) Esquire because of my bias towards the magazine It has been relegated to bathroom reading. When I read this article I honestly did not take it seriously. The point is reading it again in another context here it was chilling. Is Bush that stupid I am sure he is. But Cheney who runs the White House is not. So I wonder what his motivation was to keep rejecting the peace overtures. Israel is totally dependent on United States support and with Arafat gone it would not have taken much pressure on Sharon to accept a peace settlement that appears to have been reasonable. The Bush/ Cheney connection with the Saudis is well known. Since that 2002 the price of oil is way over the top. Keeping the Middle East in a very unstable position keeps the cost of oil very high. So is this all about money? The only thing the Saudi Royal Family has to fear is that the people of Saudi Arabia will want a democracy. Is it not a coincidence that the majority of the hijackers of 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia? Thanks Kate Esquire used to be a pretty good magazine but when the cover of the issue this article ran in is Titled "Charlize Theron is the Sexiest Women Alive and no mention of this article on the cover but a mention for recipes for Men you have to wonder why this article ended up in this magazine.

erm... why is this article in 'esquire'? kind of makes one doubt it's legit, makes it look tabloidy.

anyway, if the article is right, i can make some conclusions:

1. the escalating tension between US and iran is completely the fault of the white house, and it's the white house that refuses to negotiate, not tehran.
2. ahmadinejad has no real power in iran, seeing as his diatribes in the foreground doesn't really match efforts in the background - perhaps he's kept around just to be the 'face' of the administration
3. the white house is determined to attack iran, and will warp or ignore information to make it possible. i mean, describe the reasons the US wants to attack iran, and it will very well describe pakistan. in fact, since pakistan actually does have nuclear weapons, it fits the description better. yet pakistan is an ally. perhaps pakistan is safe because another US ally (india) does not want to fight with pakistan. but the other US ally (israel) does not like iran and won't mind having a go at iran.

The goal is the agenda. Impeachment is out of season.
Seems like everyone in Congress and the House have a personal stake of gain not to ebb the flow.
I guess we are making room for Mexico now, unlimited poor soldiers, and expansion for corporate welfare is running rapid as we sidelined to the east where they want all focus away from our own demise of our nation.
..I would feel such great pride if our military woke up and took up arms for Americans, once again.
In your face..Washington net-working buddies...

I read the whole article. I wasn't really surprised at the content. I have never seen or read anything like the antics of GWB and DC. They are determined to start more trouble and that has been their goal even before they were elected. I guess that is why they stole 2 elections to be in the position to destroy the whole damn world. Look at all of the people that were sucked in by this moronic administration. They are more dangerous than they are stupid. Both are clearly insane.....certifiably so!!!!! Thanks Cate and James for the great article.
