Ironic. My father recently referred to said chips in a recent email. Known for his dry sense of humor, he commented that he'd certainly implant a chip in my mother so that he could always find her. My mother found this amusing and stated that he was being sarcastic. It's important to maintain a sense of humor about such things. Those of us in the know KNOW what these chips represent. I'd strongly suggest that everyone read Revelations, regardless of religious choice.

Fearful that they might be able to miniaturize them to the point that we would not know. I have friends that believe the polio shot that left that ever so familiar mark on all of our arms who were born in the fifties, was more than just to prevent polio, but to actually give us a mark that was some type of signature. What most people are forgetting is that the flu of 1918 only got to be pandemic because we had 4 years of trenchwar before the flu.

well Lars, although I never take the "flu Shot" I can assure you that the needle gauge(size) is vastly larger when implanting the Verichip...Here, in Germany, We must have a "pet-passport" if we ever might travel with our pets...part of this is allowing your pet to be chipped...so I´ve personally seen the process...the needle is HUGE!

I smell a rat and not one of those used for research....screw being chipped and I would never have one of my pets done either...tags can help get your pet back home if lost...I prefer to keep big bro out of my face and personal business as much as possible...hell they want your phone number in stores when paying even cash for a purchase..why ?? because they sell the info to others..as high as phone bills have gone with all the extra taxes added on we as consumers should get a tax break for being marketing guiena pigs...I refuse to put anymore info out on myself or family..I'll take care of myself thank you..who wants a running log of where you shop for groceries,doctor visits and yes they want to chip the military members so no matter where they are shipped they can track down their medical info as well as pay info...also would ultimately help locate those who go AWOL ....

You can allow these people to cause you fear or you can ride the wave and help to keep things positive. If you allow yourself to be overcome by fear, these negative energies can usurp some of your vital energy like vampires.

My suggestion is stay informed, stay in the positive mindset. I do not buy into the ability for the Illuminati to take your power from you unless you allow it. They can control you if you stay fearful and complacent.

Christ said love your enemy. It is just as true today as in past times. You do not have to endorse the behavior or even like what is going on. But, love the person.

These negative forces are playing a role. It is a role that gets you feeling unsettled and off balance. From a spiritual standpoint it is necessary to get you to act against the tyranny.

Something is happening here that these negative forces hate and that is transparency. They are not a secret anymore. Get the word out. Try to make yourself more understanding of others. Because in the big scheme of things we are all connected and playing a game of good vs. evil. Good wins in the end every time.

Gee, no thank you. I agree with Gregory, there's really no need to worry that they can inject it without your permission, unless you are in the military and then they believe they own you! They're going to have to try to market it to us, maybe with a "You can fly right through security if you have a chip" kind of thing. Maybe some large corporations will make it mandatory to have one or you lose your job; or insurance companies drop your coverage if you don't comply. That's when you'll find out where you truely stand! This could become a huge social issue. Good article, Cate, keep them coming. As for Care2 censoring stories here: they should have a VERY strict criteria on how many valid complaints must come in BEFORE it is pulled....and none of this "new employee" excuse. Really, it should be covered under freedom of speech, and nothing pulled, but the public would abuse that.

Seriously, I think that this chip is perhaps a presumable albeit dangerous test of technology because sooner or later, there will be chips to monitor and operate everything in our homes, cars etc. There is far too much legal and medical liability for this device to be used in humans anyway, so I'm at a loss as to how it will ever appeal to anyone. Small farmers are now struggling in some states because livestock is required to be verichipped and the farmers cannot afford the extra cost.--so they are losing their rights. True Foods Network activists are fighting the chip at the FDA level. Verichip is part of Homeland Security, however military around the world is being chipped.

The royal family children were the first to be Verichipped for "security reasons". 500 US hospitals have handed the patient records over to Verichip--I read this on Verichips website:) The FreeMason Shriners are pushing it as a way to "protect" your children from abduction.--They eye in the pyramid group...like on your money:P Yes they plan on watching us! The little babies in some states are being Xmarked now so they are tracked.

I am remembering back to the Atlanta Olympics and the bank, I recall it being a Wachovia rep..and the article was Scientific American? And they said the BANK was phasing in the Smart Card at the Olympics to see if people would go for it and if they did, they would start moving off of cash.
Well that's happened. The rep said, "If I had it my way, I would tag every infant's ear at birth."--and that really struck me. So if we look at how the verichip is evolving, from the Smart Cards it is related to multinational banks. Military is also capitalizing on the technology.

If all goes according to Verichip's plan, they will replace the regular work IDs with a chip to get into buildings so all movements can be monitored within a building. All goods will be marked so they will know who bought/sold anything. They will likely combine this with bank account information. I would suspect Homeland Security will use the excuse of fighting terrorists. --probably terrorists who have at some point worked for the CIA.

They won't have to track money through the strips anymore. Your debit card will be in the palm of your hand. All of this is fine and well as long as you are in agreement with whoever is running the government. Try fighting them with no money and food, with them knowing your location anytime/anywhere.

No one should have that much power. It's too easy to abuse it to form a dictatorship that would be hard to fight once in place...
oh yes and then they would listen to our calls so how could we even talk about revolution without being put in jail.

The FDA has to approve all administered drugs or procedures that are released to the Public. Including Tylenol and other over the counter drugs.


I definitely don't see it as healthy, safe, or just a good idea. People will quickly learn how to replicate the scanner and then where will we be.
People would know what diseases possibly linking them to knowing which medications you're prescribed. Way to go..Now the drug user and dealers will have the upper hand.

When the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved implanting microchips in humans, the manufacturer said it would save lives, letting doctors scan the tiny transponders to access patients' medical records almost instantly. The FDA found "reasonable assurance" the device was safe, and a sub-agency even called it one of 2005's top "innovative technologies."

But neither the company nor the regulators publicly mentioned this: A series of veterinary and toxicology studies, dating to the mid-1990s, stated that chip implants had "induced" malignant tumors in some lab mice and rats.

"The transponders were the cause of the tumors," said Keith Johnson, a retired toxicologic pathologist, explaining in a phone interview the findings of a 1996 study he led at the Dow Chemical Co. in Midland, Mich.

Leading cancer specialists reviewed the research for The Associated Press and, while cautioning that animal test results do not necessarily apply to humans, said the findings troubled them. Some said they would not allow family members to receive implants, and all urged further research before the glass-encased transponders are widely implanted in people.

To date, about 2,000 of the so-called radio frequency identification, or RFID, devices have been implanted in humans worldwide, according to VeriChip Corp. The company, which sees a target market of 45 million Americans for its medical monitoring chips, insists the devices are safe, as does its parent company, Applied Digital Solutions, of Delray Beach, Fla.

"We stand by our implantable products which have been approved by the FDA and/or other U.S. regulatory authorities," Scott Silverman, VeriChip Corp. chairman and chief executive officer, said in a written response to AP questions.

The company was "not aware of any studies that have resulted in malignant tumors in laboratory rats, mice and certainly not dogs or cats," but he added that millions of domestic pets have been implanted with microchips, without reports of significant problems.

"In fact, for more than 15 years we have used our encapsulated glass transponders with FDA approved anti-migration caps and received no complaints regarding malignant tumors caused by our product."

The FDA also stands by its approval of the technology.

Did the agency know of the tumor findings before approving the chip implants? The FDA declined repeated AP requests to specify what studies it reviewed.

The FDA is overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services, which, at the time of VeriChip's approval, was headed by Tommy Thompson. Two weeks after the device's approval took effect on Jan. 10, 2005, Thompson left his Cabinet post, and within five months was a board member of VeriChip Corp. and Applied Digital Solutions. He was compensated in cash and stock options.

Thompson, until recently a candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, says he had no personal relationship with the company as the VeriChip was being evaluated, nor did he play any role in FDA's approval process of the RFID tag.

"I didn't even know VeriChip before I stepped down from the Department of Health and Human Services," he said in a telephone interview.

Also making no mention of the findings on animal tumors was a June report by the ethics committee of the American Medical Association, which touted the benefits of implantable RFID devices.

Had committee members reviewed the literature on cancer in chipped animals?

No, said Dr. Steven Stack, an AMA board member with knowledge of the committee's review.

Was the AMA aware of the studies?

No, he said.

I received a phone call of a medical company the other day here in Greece about getting myself DNA typed and Gene tested for pro disposition of diseases etc.

I informed the woman I would never want to do that for reason of personal inforamtion being collected and used and sold to various info buyers - insurance companies and banks, goverment etc. I KNOW this is already going on - illegally mind you. The INFO WAR is on and real TODAY - and you are the commodity to be traded. Your buying power etc.

Those chips and thanks to all we have discovered can store a multitude of information about you. It also can be fed new info. You can be tracked etc. Some even think of linking it openly to sats in order to administer "medicine" in cases of heart problems or diabeties. Of course this would only be a one shot deal ---- but together with the tracking devise ....

Just imagine - next time you are at a demo they knock you and a few hundert out in one shot. Doubt it? Look how they abuse the tasers. How were they marketed? No kill right? Do they kill? - Yes! Are they used extensively? - YES!

So what about the chip?

Take the power back people. Wake up - you are powerful - it only takes one word: NO!
