However, I do not recommend any flu shot and have never done so. I most certainly do not recommend the swine flu (the new H1N1 flu) vaccine. This vaccine will very soon be broadly available and the mainstream media will be pushing hard to encourage one and all to line up and roll up their sleeves. With the World Health Organization declaring a swine flu pandemic (Phase 6 Pandemic) this year, the swine flu vaccine (Baxter Pharmaceuticals) has been fast-tracked and should be available to reap the profits ($50 billion a year) as early as September 2009.

I don't know about anyone else but I believe when my time comes I will go for the sake of the earth and other life here. That is how it is suppose to work. I am never getting a flu shot it is ridiculous.

There are 4 vaccines that I know of that are FDA approved and the multi-dose contain 25 mcg of mercury and other ingredients are chicken eggs and formaldehyde..............why the hell do we need formaldehyde in a vaccine? Are we trying to embalm the flu in our bodies??? Plus aluminum and mercury etc are also in shots......HOW is this good for us????? I just don't get it....

HOW is getting these vaccines better than the disease?? yeah sure maybe not every body will have sever reactions to the shots but you know what, if they don't react to the shots, then they probably would not have reacted to the disease either!!!! Thus meaning they did not need it in the first place!!!!!

I don't know what's the use for mercury in a vaccine, but flu vaccines (and some others) are produced in chicken eggs and inactivated with formaldehyde. Aluminium is just a vehicle for the dose. In veterinary medicine most vaccines are like that (except for the mercury, I think), and they work fine.

Allergic reactions to vaccines are not that common, but since there's a higher incidence of allergies nowadays, then those reactions may be more frequent than before.

You may react or not to the shot, but that has nothing to do with the disease. Tetanus vaccines are mostly harmless, but tetanus is often fatal. The seasonal flu kills thousands or people per year (usually they have some previous disease, which causes complications). Vaccines have saved billions of lives through history.

BUT, I think flu vaccines are, in most cases, not necessary. I've never had one, neither my mom. We both eat healthy food and do a lot of exercise, so whenever we catch a cold or the flu, it's not that bad (we only take some aspirin). And I certainly believe all this panic is absurd.

Plus, I've heard that this new strain of flu is not as virulent as the seasonal flu. A pregnant woman in my country lost her baby, though, so pregnant women have to be careful.

Just another scare tactic to control the masses and gain huge profits for the powerful pharmaceutical companies. It's really amazing that they've come up with this vaccine in such a short period of time to distribute all over the world, yet they can't find a cure for cancer and other fatal diseases. Makes me wonder!!

I also get a little suspicious when bodies of government are pushing the populace into a state of frenzy. My concern is that soon they'll find a way to make it mandatory through employers, educational institutions, hospitals, etc. I don't trust anything coming from any government! So, while I have the right to choose; I say no to the vaccine for me and my family...

Cyn, I share your mistrust of government intentions. It seems increasingly that what governments do for us is pass off by-products of greedy corporations as something that is good for us. It is politically advantageous to sell the public on the idea that something beneficial was promoted on their behalf and at the same time, improve the balance sheets of large corporations. It is called career advancement.
