Credit Card Companies Must Not Profit From Charitable Donations - The Hunger Site

Credit card companies siphon off upwards of 3% of all charitable donations as so-called "transaction fees." While 3% may not sound like much, it adds up quickly. PLEASE SIGN!!!

I don't use creditcards. These companies and banks have way too much power already.
Sometines it's a pity that I don't use them, because cannot make donations sometimes.

Signed. Charities have enough trouble raising funds without losing part of it to credit card companies.

A donation is tax-free - It should also be transaction-free. A donation is for a charitable cause and charging a transaction fee is bad taste - and bad press.

Now, if we could just stop those banks from profiting off the SNAP program and other programs that they benefit off of from the use of these "credit cards."

I support this idea and have signed the petition. I would also like the charitable organizations to put more of our contributions into the actual reason for the organization (like feeding the hungry) and less into overhead like high salaries for the CEOs etc.

All I care about is having enough money to take care of myself and some to help others.

Signed, by the way, in my country you can make charitable donations with cell-phone calls, and the companies get money for this service....

This is greed gone out of control! Of course credit card companies are entitled to make some money - but not at the expense of non-profit organizations! It is sickening to think they get a cut of money that is supposed to be feeding the hungry, helping victims of disasters, protecting endangered species, and so on. From now on, until donations are exempt from "transaction fees," I will donate to charities with good ol' checks.
