Human populations of African countries, bear substantial responsibility themselves, for climate change, due to their irresponsible running amok over populating, causing desertification, deforestation through farming and destruction of wild natural habitats of animals, and stealing water sources of animals, these are just the tip of the ice burg of crimes being commited in Africa.

Well, did ANYONE have ANY expectations whatsoever...??? I did NOT, that's for sure. I haven't had any since the Stockholm conference in 1972...(Yes, 40 years ago...DAMMIT!!!)

Thanks Jill......very sad. Some people don't have any compassion for others, no matter what the situation might be. People that are starving, homeless, no jobs, are disregarded as nothing. People like this don't care about others as long as they are padding there own pockets. VERY, VERY SAD!!!!!!!!!

The summit never gets anywhere because we have climate deniers, especially from the USA. They don't want to believe in global warming even though we are all many degrees warmer than even 150 years ago. We live in the ski region of NYS - no snow last winter AT ALL just a dusting on March 1st. Received $500 credit from oil company because of such mild winter. Even after the Hurricanes Irene and Lee hit here and heavy flooding, now we are in a dry spell and the Gov. has issued a fire watch - no buring of anything because it is extremely dry and hot. The ozone measurement is up to "step 3" which means anyone with any breathing problems should stay indoors. This is the mountains with trees and fields of empty spaces, yet it is all brown (the grass that is, not the trees). The trees though have been turning some leaves yellow and dropping. In mid Feb. we had such warm weather the trees budded and bushes leafed out only to get frost bitten and no flowers on some of our bushes this year. Yep, we are definitely in a warm cycle. But hey, the deniers know more about this then the scientists that study this problem.

Yet another missed opportunity as fires rage in drought stricken areas, record heat and atypical flooding affects the citizens of the world...

China is the one I have hear about lately, buying up everything and poaching, stealing water....Just like the take-over, desertification, extinction for profit of these lands over here from 1492 through present day.

Rich nations are putting "economic" gains ahead of the planet. They are competing in a race to grow their economies, a game in which those who fall behind become poor. It is not sustainable. I think that groups like CASSE at have important ideas that should help to overcome this obstacle to progress on climate change.

Life on Planet Retardo...Too bad the greedy stoops causing global warming aren't the only ones that have to live in the hellfire.

Disturbing, yes; unexpected, absolutely not! First the old adage that "Every thing done by Committee is done to the lowest common denominator" is true. Some oppose ideas because they are put forward by those they consider either enemies or rivals. Some are opposed because of a real or percieved association of guilt. But regardless like it or not the Fossil Fuel Cartels have been allowed to garner control of every National government. Even those governments that have a few sane members are blocked by the corrupt or crazy, in the US the crazy are those, like Libertarians that oppose government doing anything or the religious that say either God will fix it or it is God's punishment, aiding the Corporate Whores who simply are willing to burn the planet down for money and power.

Green Stars to Mary M and Lloyd H - excellent! We must stand up and be counted and sign everything and get those around us to on the subject of climate change and Rio + 20 - or life on earth will end - and we will be partially responsible - 'All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing' - Edmund Burke.
